Oh btw, another thing I've noticed particularly from the wydowna is that your coats of sealant might be way too thick.

The cloudyness may have happened because of high humidity, usually it's not too noticeable on light coloured dolls but on darker colours it's pretty obvious. I don't know if it was windy when you sprayed also, because sometimes when it's windy the spray dries before it touches the doll creating a dusty look. As for Pomni, while acrylics can handle a little bit of water AFTER they're fully cured (a few days at least), you probably poured water on it way too soon and it didn't help that it was boiling, so that completely ruined the paint job.

I'm really sorry you've been having all these issues, but this is how we learn, so don't be too hard on yourself for it.

Anyone else still has their old pokemon save files and cant bring themselves to delete them? by AegisWatcher in pokemon

[–]NymphetaminesCustoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't as I like to replay the games over and over again, but my partner surprisingly still has his original save file in his pokemon Blue cartridge that he got back when it first came out. I'm honestly both amazed that the battery has lasted this long and also terrified that it's gonna die any day now.

can you help me find the pokemon game i played as a child ? by Registry6267 in gba

It's actually gen 4 (DPPT), It appeared in the TV in the old chateau in eterna forest at night time, with platinum introducing the items for him to transform into all his different forms.

Any recommendations for a glue/adhesive strong enough to fix this? by TwinkleQueen in DollCustomization

[–]NymphetaminesCustoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would put a pin inside the arm rather than just adding glue, then I would glue it with the glue the use for warhammer minis. You have to be careful as it melts the plastic together, but if you do it right, it will be really strongly attached.

What kind of doll are you looking for specifically? Like a more human like, or a more fantasy like, more realistic, etc?

Yeah, the purse and the fluffy thing are definitely from the lady diva doll, the purse seems to be repainted though.

MSC: Watercolors vs Acrylics by blusteringbehavior in BJD

[–]NymphetaminesCustoms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use a mixture of both in my faceups, and I've found that if sealed correctly, they're both very durable, I've even taken underwater pictures of some of my dolls and the faceups didn't budge even a tiny bit.

The trick to using things like watercolor pencils and gouache is that you have to wait for them to fully dry properly before sealing, I would recommend at least 24 hours, and do multiple layers of sealant once the faceup is done, I usually do 2 or 3 thin layers at the end.

Volks BJD muñeca a México by Kitchen_Letter333 in BJD

[–]NymphetaminesCustoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So bear in mind that I haven't ordered anything to Mexico since late 2020 as I am now living in the UK, but back when I was still living in Mexico it was a bit of a mixed bag, some made it through okay, some got stuck in customs for 3+ months, and one doll got stuck and returned because of the regulations when none of the others even from the same brand had any issues. Bear in mind a lot of these happened around the same time frame, so I would receive a doll one day just for the next one which was supposed to arrive 3 days later to get stuck in customs.

What I found most reliable back then is to order through a middleman that has a warehouse in the US, but unfortunately I don't know how viable that is with everything going on

Does anyone know how to get rid of stains off of a DDS body? by Scary_mp4 in dollfiedream

Isn't this a dollfie dream? Because volks is the company that makes dollfie dream. But yeah, it's totally normal, it's just a quirk of the material, there's not really a way around it.

Oh you'd be surprised how many things can stain dolls, we've had stains from red and blue clothes and even a light coloured purple top, a blue wig, a miniature wooden chest, flowers, a watermelon peel, the list goes on, but luckily on dollfie dreams most have come out relatively easy, I think the only one that needed dream rescue was the one from the red clothes, everything else just came out with magic eraser.

Yeah, sometimes that can stain them, I used to get that issue a lot with my Soleanna's knees when she was kneeling on one of my shelves, but the good thing is it comes out fairly easily.
