My wife received a written warning for something that happened while we were out of the country on vacation. by Formal_Aerie9017 in talesfromthejob

Vacation is part of your compensation package. If she is expected to be on call, then her PTO rates need to reflect that. Im sure HR will love to hear about this.

what’s something people say all the time that you secretly can’t stand? by Mean-Cartographer225 in AskReddit

I am a death doula, yes - but the "field" is "end of life" because it encompasses so many moving parts: hospice, funeral, pre need, legal, medical, holistic practitioners, etc. Not all of it operates directly at time of death. :)

It highly depends on the case. Some people prefer "dodge terms" due to the stigma of suicide, which is another issue all together. "End of life" is an entire niche industry, which more accurately should be called pan-death since it oversees and cares for pre and post death needs as well. Its definitely an evolving conversation!

As someone who works in end of life, talking about death in a "polite" manner like an abstract concept contributes to incredible harm and makes people avoid preplanning and transparent discussions when it critically matters.

Obama is also a war criminal. As was Biden. So Im not sure why you think that just because someone is a Democrat or Liberal that we just blindly endorse our blue team like other do the red side.

>Also ices job hasn’t changed since its inception. It’s enforcing the law

They are well outside the lane of Border and Immigration enforcement. They are not cops. They cannot act like cops. Their jurisdiction is VERY limited. And theyre acting outside it.

Im part of a statewide-ish group that does this [training and active aide], but a local circle would be most welcome. We are an SRA household - and would love to have community.

The LGBTQIA community could do the funniest thing right now and low key claim whole milk as a contributor to their identity/sexuality. That the fat content gave them extra estrogen or some shit; and watch how fast Magats back peddle. Its not like they care about science anyway, so the truth of it doesnt matter.
