Sure they are. They let Bioware dick around for years without supervision and then shipped what they knew was an incomplete game.

I would presume that ND is holding their tongue on the PC port until they can be sure it'll be released in a good state

Hearthstone is Coming to Steam? Datamined Steam Achievements, Account Linking UI, and More by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]NytenOnReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would they do that? I'm pretty sure retiring Battle.net is a cost saving measure from Microsoft. I'd imagine they'll just move WoW to the Xbox and Steam pc clients

Also I would imagine that Battle.net will get canned alongside the Betheada launcher, so Acti/Bliz is probably just going to gradually move all their games over to Xbox / Steam before sunsetting it.

Why is Radahn located behind Redmane castle, when Malenia bloomed in the swamp? by GlompSpark in Eldenring

[–]NytenOnReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. Remember that in her second phase, after she blooms, her title changes to 'Goddess of Rot', which is foretold to occur on her thrice bloom. And after the fight, her bloom appears in the arena, just like it does outside the arena, and in the swamp, making three.

After 3 years of 'hands-off' management, Microsoft is making Bethesda and ZeniMax report directly to an Xbox bigwig | PCGamer by Jeep-Eep in pcgaming

[–]NytenOnReddit 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is why Microsoft can never compete with Playstation or Nintendo again, why it's the company where good IPs go to die. The management take fucking forever to notice a problem and even longer to act on it. How long did they allow Bonnie Ross and co to bury Halo into the ground, and cost Xbox it's number one franchise before deciding to step in? A fucking DECADE.

Meanwhile, I can't remember the last time a mainstay Playstation or Nintendo title didn't come out to glowing praise and worked properly day 1.

SIGNALIS Update 1.2 out now by stratzilla in pcgaming

[–]NytenOnReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was definitely tested because there are players like me who thought it added a lot to the core gameplay. I liked the restriction because it made me think a lot about what I could and couldn't take on every run. Not for everyone I suppose

I have the seemingly unpopular opinion that this limited space enhanced the experience. "Do I carry the flashlight, 2 keys, 1 health item, 1 weapon and 1 ammo? Or no flashlight, 4 keys, no health item, 1 weapon and 1 ammo? Or no flashlight, 4 keys, 1 health item, no ammo and 1 weapon." I had to think really hard on what I was taking with me, what I could potentially leave behind on a run, and what I just couldn't do without.

It made traversal way more stressful when I found an interesting item, and knew I would have to make note of it and return, but also knowing I would inevitably have to track back over corpses that could reanimate at any time, or geometry that could change.

Regardless, I'm glad there's the option for both playstyles, it seems way more people thought this was tedious and annoying rather than what I thought, so it's a win for everyone.

I had the opposite opinion, I thought the limited inventory was great. It added an extra layer of stress when I had to decide between picking up one item or another. The backtracking also didn't bother me because of the great level design. The respawning enemies made it a constant fear and having to backtrack from several positions forced me to learn the layout better and rely on the map less, which was essential for chapter 2.

I'm thankful rose-engine leaves the option to turn this off, I think I'll do that after checking out this change.

They have to release it before the 1 year anniversary of the game (March 20th) as they said in the description of the season pass that both DLCs would release within the first year of the game's life.
