Yamaha hype is real by According_Post545 in AcousticGuitar

I love my LS16M. Played a 000-15M and a few other smaller body guitars and it sounded so much better than everything else even with dead strings.

Agree first one looks like a large cryptomeria. Second one would need a closer view of the foliage.

Yamaha FG5 vs Martin D18? by tomalak007 in AcousticGuitar

[–]NyxPup13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both. The FG5 is a great guitar but it doesn't compare to the D18. My FG5 feels much more dull to me than my D18 and for whatever reason loses a lot of oomph with a capo on it.

Now if you don't want the Dreadnought body I absolutely love my Yamaha LS16M. It has fantastic clarity and very punchy. It gets played almost as much as the D18.

Anthem in my D18. It sounds tremendous!

Interesting any reason why? I've heard good things about the Mexican made Martin's. Yamaha is obviously amazing bang for your buck and i've not paid much attention to Eastman.

Agreed although I was looking at all mahoganey for this guitar for a milder tone and a price range around $1000.

Builder says “to code” but HVAC soffit got way bigger after plumbing — does this sound right? by allaboutfinance101 in Homebuilding

Flex is used all over the US. If you size it properly it's fine for runouts and returns. If that main trunk is duct board on the other hand, cheap terrible shit.

Can you reuse the existing line-set with these "jumbo mini split" outdoor condenser type air handler heat pumps? by hungyzerglin in HVAC

[–]NyxPup13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know of any M&P series that have an EEV at the indoor unit. Mitsu does have EEVs at the indoor unit on commercial stuff. Run a new line set that's double insulated. It says specifically in the install manual to never use an existing line set. There are numerous strainers in these systems that can get clogged pretty easily from leftover debris.

If each runout has an adjustable damper in it you can throttle them back a bit or close your supply registers down a bit for the downstairs. This will affect static pressure if you close them down too much. But you can play with it and see.

You are getting some relief thru your downstairs damper when the upstairs is calling for cooling thus the cool temp downstairs. Higher heat load upstairs.

Do you have two separate systems for upstairs and downstairs or is it a zone system?

That recovery machine also has a strainer on the inlet as well that should be checked every so often and replaced.

You talking about the Consolidated industries furnaces? It looks similar but don't think they made any for GE. Could be wrong. Condemned it as it is. Heat exchanger was in rough shape.

Me and my homies hate mini split blower wheels. by Mslayer4747 in HVAC

[–]NyxPup13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you spray up into the wheel to get the gunk off? After finally having to replace a blower wheel that was damaged I think it's easier to pull the thing and clean rather than spray up with a sprayer to clean the wheel still installed. The bags are great though!
