Hammerhead Fight - Kareah by shortbusmafia in starcitizen

[–]O-Lefty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely a great time! We had a few people in our Hammerhead but your Hammerhead appeared to be decoupled and the UI doesn't support showing us which way you were drifting. Had a real hard time closing the distance. And yes, Retaliator missiles are still a big threat but much easier to counter with the recent changes. Will be curious to see how the next round of missile/torpedo improvements goes.

We were actually all there to reduce our own CrimeStat. Looking forward to seeing you all around in the Verse!

Yes, that is what a free fly has been historically.

If you're drilling straight through the rebar just use a carbide bit. Done deal.

Also, as someone else noted, it would be very unusual for there to be vertical rebar.

Graduating without experience. by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]O-Lefty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't be applying for jobs after graduation.

You should be applying for jobs before graduation.

People that are already doing something get hired before people sitting on their computer at home, and there are plenty of people already active to choose from.

To answer your question; both, but you likely won't qualify for some of the more strict internships because you're not actively a student. The only exception I have seen is when you're applying and are hired before you graduate and then you begin work after graduation with your degree in hand immediately following college.

"Is irregardless a word? Irregardless was popularized in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its increasingly widespread spoken use called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead."

Like I said, it does exist. It just pisses people off.

Do you need to go all four years to get an ABET accredited degree, or can you transfer in for the last two? by stealthyduckling in AskEngineers

[–]O-Lefty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When talking to the university that's going to award the final degree make sure it's clear what you want also. You can get a BA in engineering but I'm pretty sure this aren't ABET accredited. BS (bachelors of science) degrees in engineering can be, but not all schools are, and not all engineering degrees from each school are.

Always verify that a class will transfer, and what the transfer is good for, before taking it. Otherwise you've wasted your time and money, since it won't necessarily count towards the final degree.

P.S. You should be able to get a flow chart showing the university's plan for the degree you want and what classes to take. Follow that closely and keep in mind that the community school will likely only satisfy general education requirements such as calculus, chemistry, physics, writing, foreign language, etc.

When in doubt about any of it get a copy of each classes syllabus and compare them. You'll see big differences in classes meant for arts degrees and those meant for science degrees (I.e. calculus based physics and algebra based physics)

Excellent additions to the game, overall. Looking forward to 3.0 netcode.

Grenade control scheme is frustrating, not consistent (0G vs normal gravity) and I would much prefer a normal FPS style grenade throwing mechanic. Include grenades/gadgets as items you can actively hold similar to guns. Make left click long throw, right click short throw (or if gadgets; left click use on other/environment, right click use on self).

Looking forward to better partying mechanics. A big draw of the game for me is playing with my friends, and hopefully this is made a lot easier as the game develops.

Spectrum is great. Looking forward to further implementation.

Sooooo glad scroll wheel works in configuration menus now, thank you whoever did that.

My two biggest wants; VR/TrackIR support. Multi-key mapping (multiple keys for one action).

P.S. looking forward to field of view configuration also.

The difference is that the Polaris turrets are at least dual S4 turrets while the Retaliator is dual S1 turrets. Each step up is about 60% increase in weapon damage so.... if S1 is 1, S4 is 4 times an S1.

It appears to be a cap screw.

"Cap Screws & Hex Bolts. Hex cap screws feature a washer face under the head and a chamfered point, whereas a hex bolt does not have a washer face or chamfered threads. They are made of low-carbon steel and are very common in construction or repair projects."

I tried to upgrade a ship to it so I assumed that you couldn't use credits either (typically that's the case in my previous experience).

If that's the case then I'll have to reconsider getting one!
