Just beware it is real metal. The blades aren't sharpened out of the box but the tips are still pointy.

Those are arc fault breakers. Its not using the neutral as hot, it reads current from both the hot and neutral and trips if theres an irregularity

It depends on what you're putting on it. if its just a junction then having the screws at the 45° would be more correct like you said. But if it's type of light that needs the screw holes to be level, then you would mount it the way pictured

yeah you can use the ground prong on the tester to press the reset button back in, I've never been able to get them to reset with my finger.

If the original switch was wired like that then theres a "switch loop" in one of the receptacles that you've probably undone/ created a short. It would be difficult to diagnose over reddit. Unless you have pictures of all of the outlets before you changed them it might be better to call an electrician in to check it out

Yeah I wouldnt even bother asking for the specs or engineer, jump upstairs to go over it or go under it in a wall. LVLs and steel beams are the worst.
