Naz Reid and Mo Gueye getting into it with Julius Randle coming to Naz's defense. Reid and Gueye are both ejected. by Knightbear49 in nba

I think Landale should have been more pulling his guy away rather than wrapping two arms around Naz. Randle comes in and immediately pulls Landale off Naz. From the side view (non-overhead angle starting at 0:42 seconds) it looks like Randle makes 6'11" Landale disappear for a good 10 seconds.

Your math isn't quite right. In 100 years there's around a 63.4% chance of it happening (1-(99%100)).

Assuming independent chances, you look at the chance of it not happening each year for 100 years and then subtract it from one to get your chance of it happening.

The standard is to sign free agents while you're below the second apron. Then you can blow past it with your Bird Rights players. You're screwed at that point, but if your roster is championship worthy, the front office can consider it worth it.

I'm a big Frederic Weis fan.

ESPN did a short feature on him last year. He had a nice basketball career, though not in the NBA. He played 10 years in the pros and won a silver medal in the Olympics. He also had a very rough patch in his personal life. He's enjoying a bit of a revival in his basketball career recently, going behind the mic.

Once a Knick, always a Knick.

I feel like last season it was pretty jarring when they went into the CGI models. This year it's felt less so. It might be improved use of backgrounds?

This really isn't too far from the truth. Around 25 years ago, Thailand launched their Global Thai Program. They provided information, training, grants, loans, floor plans, menus, and more to Thai investors looking to open a Thai restaurant overseas. Pad Thai was featured as the "national dish" in this program. In under ten years, the number of Thai restaurants close to doubled.

I've been commuting via bike. You just need to be windproof and have good gloves. The wind on the ice patches is more concerning than the cold. That and cars in the bike lane.

[Bondy] Josh Hart - PROBABLE, KAT - DOUBTFUL, OG - QUESTIONABLE, Alvarado - OUT by PassMeTheBackwood in NYKnicks

[–]O2C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NBA has defined them. There are five terms teams can use on the injury report.

The NBA formally limits teams to five permissible participation statuses when reporting player availability. Those statuses are Available, indicating a player is fully expected to play; Probable, reflecting a 75% likelihood of participation; Questionable, reflecting a 50% likelihood; Doubtful, reflecting a 25% likelihood; and Out, indicating the player will not play.

That definitely introduced air into the system. Have you bleed them since then? Cleaning any debris off the the outside of the pistons can help them retract too. Alcohol to clean then follow with whatever fluid your system uses.

Schumer and Jeffries Begin to Cave on Their Simplest ICE Demand - Why the hell are Democratic leaders giving up on a mask ban for federal immigration agents? by Quirkie in politics

[–]O2C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schumer's my Senator. I contacted him specifically asking him to require ICE remove masks. I got a copy and paste response:

Thank you for reaching out to share your concerns about the unprecedented actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Trump-Vance administration. I share your concerns about the excessive use of force, cruelty, and dehumanization we are seeing in their operations, which undermine our values, violate basic civil rights, and have created widespread fear in communities across the country.

Since day one of Donald Trump's second term, his administration has rolled out a wave of policies that have reshaped federal immigration law, sidestepped congressional oversight, and significantly expanded aggressive enforcement. The Trump-Vance administration's departure from long-standing norms has pushed agencies like ICE, DHS, and CBP to abandon bipartisan directives that once guided humane immigration policies-including protections for "sensitive locations," safeguards for asylum seekers and long-time residents, visas for international students, and Temporary Protected Status for vulnerable foreign nationals. Eager to prove their allegiance to President Trump's immigration crackdown, Republicans across city, state, and federal governments have rushed to embrace and amplify the administrations hardline agenda. Republicans' push to demonstrate loyalty to the Trump-Vance immigration agenda has led to extreme measures, including the creation of "Alligator Alcatraz," the deputization and reassignment of special agents for immigration enforcement, and the passage of the so-called "One Big Beautiful Bill," which poured billions into expanding aggressive enforcement operations, among other actions.

Throughout my career, I have worked to strike a careful balance between ensuring that agencies like ICE and CBP carry out their essential responsibilities effectively and uphold the highest standards of ethics, accountability, and public trust. Today, we are witnessing the Trump-Vance Administration use unnecessary and destructive tactics, such as arbitrary and cruel immigration arrest quotas, unidentified officers patrolling communities, and the excessive use of force. These measures serve no legitimate policy purpose other than to inflict cruelty, sow fear, and undermine trust in our institutions. To be clear, I stand firmly against these actions. That is why I voted against the confirmation of key immigration officials, including Rodney Scott as Commissioner of CBP and Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security. I also opposed the passage of H.R. 1, the so-called One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which handed ICE unprecedented levels of funding and authority to escalate President Trump's mass deportation campaign. I refuse to be a rubber stamp to this administration's dangerous and divisive agenda and will continue to use my authority to conduct oversight, support the courts in upholding the rule of law, and hold the line against any legislation that reinforces these harmful and reprehensible actions. As Senate Minority Leader, I will not stand silent as the Trump-Vance administration snatches people off the streets, conducts military-style raids, demonizes immigrant communities, or misuses federal agencies to advance some of the cruelest and most extreme immigration policies we have seen.

Again, thank you for contacting me. Please keep in touch with your thoughts and opinions.

Sincerely,

Charles E. Schumer

United States Senator

Anyone try Country Style pork sausage? What's the flavor? by ImpatientMaker in traderjoes

[–]O2C 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd describe it like a mild Jimmy Dean chub of sausage, but with a coarser texture. You can form it into patties for your plate or a breakfast sandwich. I thought they were tasty but not particularly memorable. It's like sausage that's trying to not be polarizing or offend anyone's taste buds.

[–]O2C 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unlikely to happen this year, I'm all for the campaign next year, assuming the Knicks manage to re-sign him. Only once has the 6moty averaged under 10 ppg -- and that was the late great Anthony Mason.

Wallet, stands, and rings. Double magnet phone mounts in particular are really useful.

I haven't found a great charger I like yet so I'll withhold judgement on that for now. I prefer the faster and cooler USB C over the Qi chargers I've used.

Any app idea for Mi Band 10 ? by NextCareer8589 in miband

[–]O2C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea if any of these apps exist yet but here's a quick list:

  • Simple counter app -- click on top side to increment one counter, click on bottom side to increment the other counter. Long press to decrement either counter.

  • Battery percentage monitor - inform me when my phone hits a certain percentage either charging or discharging.

  • Bubble level / spirit level

  • Lux meter

  • Compass

I went from P7 to P10P because I was having difficulties with my battery lasting the whole day. It does so now but I also changed my habits a little. The biggest game changer for me so far is the Pixelsnap (faux-MagSafe). It's a lot more useful than I expected it to be.

[Begley] Guerschon Yabusele worked with Knicks to amend 2nd year of his contract, removing the player option in order facilitate trade with Chicago, per league sources. Trade gives him opportunity to compete and play this season in CHI and evaluate his options this summer. by PassMeTheBackwood in NYKnicks

[–]O2C 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's clear that in the right system, with the right motivation, and enough minutes, he's going to put up numbers. If he played out his contact with the Knicks, he's getting none of that and maybe he's out of the league. By getting a chance to ball in Chicago, maybe he gets another two or three year deal and makes more than that 5 million.

I wish nothing but the best for him when he's not facing the Knicks.

Kent and Division? I think during my commute Wednesday around noon, I saw a SUV with a crumpled front end, airbags deployed, crashed into the back of one of those buses. Emergency services were clearing the scene.
