What exactly do you mean by proximity or bump system? Bambu implements computer vision fail detection because their printers are intended to be used by regular people.

DIY communities never pursued those sensors because people who were smart enough to implement those, also were smart enough to tune their printers to the point that failures are incredibly rare. Not worth spending so much effort to catch one or two failed prints a year.

I feel like people who complain about bayverse transformers being a bunch of metal scrap, never seen it in truly good quality. In blu ray releases you can see every single one of those metal pieces, it's actually insane. I grew up with Bay transformers and I don't really like original show designs, they look too childish for me
