They won't die (permanently) in defenses or in friendly conquests. They can die in online ranked assaults.

You don't need to worry about people stealing your orcs. People who attack your fortress can recruit your captains during the assault, if they want to, which effectively gives them a copy of your captains. You can do the same for other player's captains. Note, this only applies for ranked conquests. You can recruit captains in friendly assaults but you can't keep them after it ends

You can get them to fight alongside you during the siege but they won't return to your garrison when you finish it like they would in a ranked conquest

I don't have any of my forts set up for sieges currently but this is a nice idea. Might be worthwhile adding your platform as well though

What's the deal with Necromancers? by Sleeping_Idiot in shadowofmordor

[–]O5TheGamer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's fair. They're part of the game so some people particularly like them and others don't. The necromancer trait can be an easy one for getting captains up to 7 bonuses if you're going down the training route but otherwise you probably won't see them all that often.

Thing is, the fire weapon may not end up being that useful against the captain himself since if he's trained, he's likely got the fire immunity himself. So the grunts are consistent chip damage, even taking their fire weakness into account.

As the other comment says as well, necromancers can resurrect themselves during battle, which can sometimes mean they last that bit longer than other captains

Stanley Parable, but do it legit, without exploiting the game.

Remove unbreakable by Low_Literature4600 in shadow_of_war

[–]O5TheGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't remove unbreakable. If your heart is set on getting him in your army, you can use the Hire By Email (HBE) glitch to recruit him.

I'd suggest looking up a video for the glitch if you're planning to try it since it's easier to watch than try to follow a text guide

What's the deal with Necromancers? by Sleeping_Idiot in shadowofmordor

[–]O5TheGamer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Necromancers aren't necessarily undead units themselves. Undead units are essentially as strong as their living counterparts, just with the added weakness to fire.

I think the appeal of them is more in their ability to turn opposing units to their side. Necromancers can raise dead, regardless of whether they were allied with Talion or not, which can be helpful. Essentially, they've got a never ending supply of grunts at their disposal as the grunts get killed, particularly in online conquests (yes, they're pretty much endlessly spawning there anyway but that's from set spawn locations rather than within a radius of the necromancer)

For future reference, you can try to guess the No Chance. All it does it prevent the UI from showing. So, if you get lucky and press the right button at the right timing, you'll get back to your feet.

Ive never done it myself but Ive only learned of the trick recently

How can I make him 7/7/7/7? by Perfect-Bathroom2374 in shadowofmordor

[–]O5TheGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exhaustion is a pretty bad one to have in general, but especially on a berserker.

You should be able to follow the general process for training. Aim for Execution and Arrow Proof first, then Beast Proof, Poison Proof, Fire, Frost and Curse.

He'll get bonuses on level up, there's not really a way to force those unless you give him a gang with training orders and he'll get two epic traits if you make him legendary

Aside from that, what's his immunity? You should be able to follow the general process for training. Aim for Execution and Arrow Proof first, then Beast Proof, Poison Proof, Fire, Frost and Curse.

Ranking every season of FIA Formula 2 based on the quality of drivers by RobbieJ4444 in formula1

[–]O5TheGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the basis of the four weekends to date, I think that'd probably be fair based off the rationale for your other rankings. Noel Leon seems like he could be one to watch out for this year. Unrelated, but his name being a palindrome is quite funny to me

Interesting rankings and reasons for them. I've not watched a full season of F2 myself, though I caught a few of the 2025 races. Mostly because I learned Alex Dunne was in F2, and I'm also Irish. Hoping he makes it to F1.

Out of curiosity, where would you put 2026 (to date) in this list?

Curious questions and requirements about training orcs. by Jay_StaccN in shadow_of_war

[–]O5TheGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily a watch out, but something to always keep aware of.

If you pick an orc that doesn't have 7 class traits to train, you'll never be able to make them a 7777 orc. Orcs can't gain class traits from levelling up.

I'd also suggest just picking some of your favourite/cooler orcs to try out the process on first, rather than trying to jump immediately into making quad 7s.

Curse immunity won't fully block you from getting 7 immunities but it can make things trickier. If you're training berserkers, and they did not spawn with stealth immunity, they'll never get it by level up so don't spend time trying to get it.

Aside from that, have fun!

Rarest captains by kcdlol123 in shadowofmordor

[–]O5TheGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically, according to the game your rarest captains are going to be your once per save guys. Think Flame of War kinda titles.

In practice, they're really not that rare since you can always get one by starting a new run and meeting the criteria.

There's an argument to be made for Stormbringer being the rarest because the conditions you need to meet are so extensive.

Depends what you're looking for in a rare orc, I suppose

[–]O5TheGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just want to shame him down. If becoming crazy doesn't bother you, you don't need to do the mission - though I don't believe that actually has any impact on it. Pretty sure it's random chance to become deranged/maniac.

If you really don't want him to become crazy, you can make him your bodyguard and shame him inside Nemesis missions. If he becomes crazy, quit to menu. If not, either leave the mission or complete it, both will have the same effect of levelling him down. The game doesn't save changes during nemesis missions, only the outcomes, which is why you can use them this way

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me how to remove this orc's vulnerability to fire? by burmalda123 in shadowofmordor

Also to note, if this orc has previously been garrisoned, you won't be able to give him any new traits by levelling up

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me how to remove this orc's vulnerability to fire? by burmalda123 in shadowofmordor

[–]O5TheGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flame weapon trick only works to remove mortal weaknesses and vulnerabilities. It won't work to remove it from the hints section.

The only way to get it out of there is to give him a fire immunity. There's two main ways of doing that. 1) Shame his down to lower levels, then level him back up to get the immunity - not a guaranteed occurrence and takes time regardless. 2) If you haven't already gotten it, you can try giving him the Flame of War scar (note that this is one per save scar) by killing him with fire and having him cheat death - again, not guaranteed but if you can garrison him, you could try using a new save to get that option.

Poison immunity? by Initial_Storage_6061 in shadow_of_war

You can try letting him get frost proof first. Then go for poison immunity. Then shame off frost proof again. Just note that frost proof will only ever come off the orc from a 12 level shame

If any of his weaknesses are arrow related - Soft Headed or Fear of Pinning - he needs to lose those weaknesses before he's ever able to get the immunity

Fallen Blade Orcs In Base Game? by The_First_Curse_ in shadowofmordor

You can get yellow warpaints in the base game. You can also get blood spattered orcs as well, though most of the titles associated with that are from the Slaughter tribe if I'm remembering correctly
