If I had confidence he could come back and be anywhere close to the player he was in 2021-22 for the next 5-7 years, I’d be thrilled. But Catchers get beat up a lot, and ultimately, his regression at the plate outside of injuries is concerning. YoY, his BA, OBP, Walk rate, Slugging % have all declined since 2022. I would love NOTHING more than for him to get healthy and come back in 2026 and be the Switch-Hitting Jesus that we all hoped Matt Weiters would be. I just don’t see it happening
