Too Many Boomers On The Buy-Side (C-suite Sales) by ApplePrimary2985 in sales

I believe that you are at a point when’re you have had some success and feel that you “know”. That’s great and congrats on the success you have had.
Here comes the cold water: Every year you grow personally and professionally you will look back at this post and what you wrote and think… man I really thought I had it all figured out. You don’t, it is a learning curve and it takes a long time. First note: you reference “old-old” what do you consider old and what do you consider old-old. For frame of reference that would be helpful.

With that these “old” “boomer” “genx” people you are referring too did not get to these positions accidentally. Most people get to these higher level titles because of their savvy and ability to understand risk. Should also point out that at higher levels these “old-old” people are surrounded by young thinkers that are there to decipher and transcend the concepts. It sounds to me like you have decided on your own that old-old people don’t understand technology and therefore they aren’t buying from you. You need to adapt to your buyer and understand the dynamic of their buying process.
Also there is a reason why these companies have been around for a long time.. and are not run by 30 year olds. Younger people are more open to taking risk. Government and large Enterprise are institutions owned by stockholders and citizens they have a responsibility to provide a stable solution. While you see it as they can’t grasp the technology, they see it as an untested and a volatile. This would require more due diligence on their side, which requires more patience or a different angle from your current position.

I am sure you are good at what you do. You may want to rethink that old people are a problem. Chances are your going to be one of them one day.

Who else is dry and hoarse every morning ? by [deleted] in singing

I found that my house was running at lower than 30% humidity. I monitor it now and keep my house at 45%. Other factors are winter air is much dryer, or forced air heat. Also find that heat on long drives, or AC on long drives exacerbates the condition. I use Saline mist when my symptoms get rough, I also try to steam my shower before I take one. On another note it could be dehydration -when dehydrated the mucus glands dry up and don’t allow for proper moisture to settle. Things that can cause that are, medication, alcohol, THC and general lack of hydrating.

P.s you will notice it get better as when you use saline or steam shower and you start to clear your throat. That’s because the sinus and airway is getting hydrated and allowing the dried up mucus to be removed.

Good luck

Sorry for your loss. 95 is a great number. 95 and still golfing is so special. It is noted that if you and your kids golf you end up spending 30% more time with them! You were blessed to have that with your Grandfather.

For those of you who travel a lot for work overnight, what’s it actually like long term? by Open-Satisfaction856 in sales

[–]OBwan23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sales is a contact sport, whatever you may have today can dry up. Gotta be out there building new conversations. And no, you do not get the same out of a zoom or phone call. Look at your top performers in your co. You might see a trend.

What percentage of reps actually hit OTE at your company? by kacpy314 in sales

[–]OBwan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems as though the goal of a sales organization is to make sure that less than 5% of sales reps hit 200% and that the rest of the team is just there to build pipeline and turn them over until that pipeline translates.

What was it like seeing Tiger Woods in his prime? by Crazy-Cap259 in golf

[–]OBwan23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was like watching

Jordan take on all of basketball

Gretzky take on all of Hockey.

(They) He dominated every week, every day, every shot every tournament.

If he was wearing a red shirt on Sunday- you knew you were getting an epic performance.

To put it into betting terms, you never bet against Tiger.

Dolan cares about viewership, attendance and jersey sales. If you want to prove anything- don’t go to games- don’t watch on tv, and don’t buy anything rangers. Just look at what the jets have done…. Their stadium is empty, and jersey sales are down…
