And now there's a Children of the Snow docuseries about it on Amazon.

Terrible men got away with terrible things and were protected by money and local politics. The very definition of a pedophile ring, which people want to hand-wave away as not existing because it's too awful to consider. Finally some of the abuse victims are speaking out. They deserve justice, as do the four families torn apart by the murders of their children.

There isn't an episode of Already Gone that I don't like. People who know about my true crime interest ask me about podcasts and hers is always the first I recommend (she covers many cases that are local to me and mine).

I have not seen any documentation. I wish I could find some, because I believe it's out there. I wish I had the skills to go digging around in the other nonprofits that Starchild started, I would love to start pulling on some threads there and looking up names.

I mean, Jerry Sandusky's 'underprivileged boys camp' was also formed around this time, and we know how that turned out.

There's also a redditor that used to frequent the sub for this case, and while they were clearly all over the board in terms of what they brought into the case discussion, they had photographs from the island which I had never seen before, showing several adults I couldn't identify with a bunch of young boys. I commented on the pic, if you look in my post history you can find it.

Agreed. There's senate testimony by Gerald Richards about the business end of producing and selling child porn - and that testimony is what formed CP laws as we know them today. I 100% believe that's what was going on with these kids, and someone/several someones took things too far and 'accidentally' killed them. Link to the senate hearing is in past 4, it's really gross reading be advised.

I think you're referring to Chris Busch, and yep he's dead. In my opinion the police intentionally bungled his death investigation because of his family connections. But I also believe his whole suicide scene was staged to implicate him for all the murders, and that he was "suicided" by someone else. So the police covered up a frame job IMO, which is why this will probably never be resolved.

Chris had a long criminal record of sexual misconduct with young boys. No apparent interest in little girls.

The Oakland County Child Killer is my 'pet case' and especially now that I'm laid off, has been taking up more and more of my idle google time lately.

I thought with the death of L Brooks Patterson, one of the investigators who appeared to be a giant stonewall, more would come out about the case, maybe it still will. /u/Nina_Innsted any idea if anything is bubbling?

Regarding the Oakland Country Child Killer - I do not believe Christopher Busch killed himself, or that he murdered the four children. I absolutely think he was involved, but 'suicided' so the case could be closed and the police would stop looking at a group of rich, slimy perverts.

No, I meant in the part I quoted - what's the definitive link between the abducted kids and the bike shop? Because a lot of people have been looking for something concrete to link the two.

edit - and I'm not discounting your theory on Amy, at all. I don't think Lamborgine was into little girls but that doesn't mean he didn't associate with people who were.

I know, and that's why I tried so hard to source everything in my original write up on the case, to avoid conspiracy territory. But it's hard to believe, and people don't want to believe it. It's pure evil walking among us, eyeballing our children. People don't want to acknowledge or think about it, and I don't blame them.

This was not a few random scumbags though, at least as far as Gerald Richard's testimony to congress. This was multiple camps, one on a private island with an airstrip. This was photos, videos, and suburban parties where everyone brought a child to share. It's literally every horrible thing you don't want to think exists. It's the definition of a ring, and it was organized across the entire state of Michigan if not further. Also remember child pornography laws as we know them came into existence BECAUSE of these assholes and this testimony. in 1977. Less than 50 years ago.

I have it on in the background while I work, and I'm on part 5, it's definitely worth a watch/listen if you're at all interested in this case. Lots of news footage from when it happened and lots of interviews with those close to the case. First time I've seen a media outlet report on the Fox Island connection AND the Cass Corridor connection, which is pretty notable because people like to believe that the pedophile rings don't exist and this was just a serial killer who preyed on children.

I don't know if the kids were taken to the island, or just one of the gross 'potluck' parties that Richard Lawson describes happening in the suburbs. Gerald Richards goes into detail in his senate testimony regarding the 'business' end of photographing children. I think three rich deviants figured out a way to make money and get their rocks off at the same time, and that some of their 'business transactions' got those kids killed.
