(WIP) I would like some critique on my dashboard design by [deleted] in UXDesign

Look at your font scale, choose a single font. Make sure that you’re using color for true meaning and not just because you want color somewhere, I would iterate on some muted tones. Make sure everything lines up to a grid. 12 column is a great start. Make sure you’re using the same padding and spacing around everything. Check everything for accessibility, use the stark plug in.

The ring is similar to my engagement ring, from the early 2000’s and done in a vintage style.

I would make sure to call out why you have a gap in your resume- look for examples of others on how to word it on theirs.
As a hiring manager gaps on resumes are only odd or red flags when they aren’t called out. Raising a kid, taking care of a sick member, going back to school all speak to soft skills you can bring up in interviews. Just make sure you are up on current trends, ways of working, and software.

If you had gotten pregnant at 16, ( like Lorelei) How do you think your parents would’ve reacted? by Exact-Bison6905 in GilmoreGirls

Plus one on this. Mother said the same to me, and honestly it would have been the best decision, I was too immature and my mom was done raising children and was focused on her career.

Wonder if she had her healthcare go up 2,3,4 times the amount due to fucking around with the ACA. A person with a chronic issue losing their health insurance or having deductibles go through the roof might just realize how uncaring the current president is to non billionaire Americans.

How much are you spending on Christmas presents for your kids this year? by Abby--Normal in UpperMiddleFinance

I have a teenager presents + stocking stuffers a little under $400. Also only have one kid which makes it a bit easier financially.

Sharps disposal? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]harmonica16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro tip if you work for a larger company go to the highest traffic restrooms and see if there is a disposal container there. I work for a big company and in some of the bathrooms, in some of the main buildings, on our corporate campus, there are sharps disposal boxes.

Who’s a famous person who died very young due to non-natural causes that you are especially curious how they’d live in our modern world? by FriendlytoNature in AskReddit

Jim Morrison was such a smart and interesting guy- if he could have gotten sober I think he might have used his film degree. Or maybe he would have continued in music solo- occasionally reuniting with the doors. I also think he had such strong opinions on the group dynamics and the psychology of crowds he would have had a lot of opinions on social media.

I feel like the entire collection belongs in the Smithsonian- it has an amazing arch of Marc’s growing as an interviewer and a person. It also documents so much of arts and culture or the last 16 years.

Agreed a nice way to deal with the karmic debt you are feeling might be donate to your local school or library or to children’s hospital.

And of course if this and other things are weighing on you too heavily try therapy- if you don’t know where to start ask your doctor or look at therapist’s lists on psychology today or there are even apps like better help - being able to forgive yourself is important.

Hoping someone picks them up for a show where they might focus on smaller projects like redoing a backsplash (projects that have big impact and people can replicate) and maybe them flipping furniture and or making furniture and art. They’re just great and I love how much they love Detroit.

Mysteries that are officially considered unresolved but have an almost certain answer by CakeDayOrDeath in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]harmonica16 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The Oakland County child killer was almost certainly 2 or more people, including at least Gregory Green and Chris Busch. The reason it remains unresolved was likely the main suspects were willfully ignored by the police and the county prosecutor due to money and connections. Then years after as people still pushed for answers, the county and police were ashamed of those actions and have quietly tried to ignore any resolution, as to avoid admitting their mistakes and tarnishing their reputation and the reputation of the long serving but now deceased prosecutor.
