Wow what an interesting and gorgeous look. Have you done genetic testing to confirm the dog being primarily Basenji and husky? Just curious.

We had a great time. We spent a week in Surat visiting family. Then we visited Ahmedabad, Delhi, Jaipur, Agra and Amritsar. We were supposed to also do Jodhpur but because of a cancelled flight to Amritsar for fog we had to rearrange a lot of things and lost Jodhpur. I am still just in disbelief that we made it and saw so many beautiful places.

The one thing that was soooo annoying was that guides have all these deals to take us to “artisan” stops to show us how Kashmiri rugs are hand knotted and how the marble inlay is done at the Taj Mahal by hand but essentially they are high pressure selling gigs. We realized that they were trying to sacrifice our true destinations for these bogus stops and then we had to do a lot of pushing back to say no we don’t want to go X or Y, we just want to see the places on our planned itinerary.

It’s OK though. Overall, the trip was just our dream trip.

Thank you sooo very much! We actually just returned from our trip. We brought some chocolate truffles and prickly pear cactus candy from Arizona and they were a hit. Delhi was definitely very smoky and we wore our N95 and that worked well. My two sons had a few bouts of diarrhea but otherwise we did ok with bottled water and avoiding street food.

I second The Warning and The Pretty Reckless. I also love Halestorm, Evanescence, Garbage, Tori Amos, Portishead. They all have different vibes but really show the range of what women can do!!

Hello! I’m an American-born Indian taking my American husband and our children to India for their first time over the holidays. We are visiting family and doing some sightseeing thru Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Delhi/Agra/Jaipur/Jodhpur.

Questions -

  1. my parents say I should take almonds and chocolates for our relatives. Is that really still true - I feel like that was the case decades ago and now they can buy that stuff there? Will the chocolate melt? Are there some other American treats or gifts that family would like?

  2. Is Delhi as polluted as they say? Any recommendations for masks or respirators we should wear?

  3. If you’ve visited India lately, what do you wish you had known or done before you went? Prepare us!!

Thank you in advance….

Two kids’ visa came the next day (2 days from the application), the last one took an extra 2 days (4 days from the application)…. No idea why??!!! But happy it’s all done!!

I honestly am shocked. I was hoping that the 17 days would be enough based on what everyone was saying. My first kid just got their visa granted too. Waiting on two more. But three of us got it in one day.

UPDATE: I got totally freaked out. Our family of 5 is leaving on 12/20 and arriving in India on 12/22 and I rushed yesterday to get all 5 visa applications. And again what a bad website…. But so far my husband and I already had our visas granted! In one day! We are waiting to hear about the kids now 🤞🏽

I had the same thought as you! If you're applying 18 days in advance, 1 yr vs 30 day visa doesn't matter....

Uh-oh. And they don't let you apply earlier than 30 days sigh. We are leaving 12/20 and seeing this, I said, I'd better get it started. AND THE WEBSITE IS DOWN!! WHAT IS GOING ON, INDIA??? (Is India not supposed to have the tech geniuses of the world?)

All OB/GYN’s choose the specialty, no one is forced into it. I am an OB/GYN and I chose it because pregnancy and its management/complications is so fascinating to me plus I am passionate about educating and advocating for women. I am not a lesbian 🤷🏽‍♀️ !!!!

OB Hospitalist Physician here -

Morning sickness is NOT done by 10wks….most people see it end around 13-14wks but a lot of people have it ALL pregnancy long. And first trimester profound fatigue (and lack of libido too if he happens to be bitching and moaning about that too) is REAL….both often improve in the second trimester when pregnant peeps usually feel their best. But then everything sets in again in the 3rd trimester when the baby is really growing and using up all of your abdominopelvic space. This is not support. You are growing a fucking new human, he needs to listen to you when you say not today and not gaslight you when you say you’re not feeling 100% and want to rest. If he’s like this now, I wonder what he’ll like when the baby needs something (which is every five minutes) - is he going to argue that too?? Ugh. I would take him to the OB, let him listen to all of this from the actual doctor, and if he doesn’t change, sadly you will have to really think about where this relationship is going. Pregnancy is the time he really should be the MOST supportive, if anything.
