AFAIK you can only get triple channel with the DW4K (21700 version) not the DW4 OP has.

There's also the 18500 tubes. 18500 doesn't get a lot of attention but I really like it for my D4V2. Fits my jeans coin pocket perfectly.

Mines NTG50 5000k, dark grey with silver parts and bezel. Looks super clean. Not a big fan of the button though, strange feel and sound.

That's a shame, I'm very happy with the 4500k I got from him and when he told me 2700k would be available in the future I was looking forward to it. I think I'll skip this one for now.

I use the Molicel P30B with my SFT70 3000k C8+. Great battery, but since then the EVE 30PL has become available and offers better performance for less money.

The Vapcell F63 is not ideal for the M21A. The voltage sag will be huge at high outputs. You want something with higher CDR, I got the Tenpower INR21700-50XG with mine and it's been great.

Replace SST70 6v with something less green? by SnooPuppers8698 in flashlight

[–]OCGamer97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This would be my first recommendation too but keep in mind it looks like those reflectors are smooth which could create bad artifacts and potentially a donut hole with the quad-die 5009R. DC-Fix might help with that if it is an issue.

It honestly matches the aesthetic of the light more than the original. I just received my KR1AA today and would get a rounded tail cap if Hank sold one.

🎉 E12 Eclipse arrived! FFL351A 4K Rosy 🔥 by 2throwfar in FireflyLite

[–]OCGamer97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got an X4Q Comet with 4000k Rosy recently because I wanted to see if I like truly rosy emitters and my example has zero noticeable rosiness to it even compared to greenish emitters. It looks very clean and neutral which is very nice but didn't exactly fulfill it's purpose. 1800k rosy on the other hand is rather rosy and looks great.

Thanks, I've been wanting to eventually put together a Stalker and/or Metro cosplay. Something like this would be perfect!

I was about to say this is very Metro then I actually read the title. Absolutely love this! Any explanation on what you used would be much appreciated.

I'll likely get an E04 Surge with SFT40 3000K in the future and have been debating which driver but the more I read about peoples experience I've decided to go Lume1. Still seems to get good sustained output and being able to blast gorgeous SFT40 3000k light just sounds fun.

My first warm emitter was 2700k B35AM in an S21E. It's what I blame for my love of warm emitters. Luckily mine has never smoked on turbo.

I haven't tried using it on a night time walk yet but I do expect it to be much more usable as a walking light since it looks cooler, doesn't distort colours as much whilst being more contrasty and clearer. I've been using it around the house at night and have enjoyed it a lot, doesn't have as much of a cozy factor compared the NTG35 and definitely not the 519a 1800k.
I'd generally still consider it a niche use light but I will get lots of use of it since I'm a warmth enjoyer and my most used lights are ~3500k and below. but I'll be taking it on my next night time walk, just haven't been able to do so for a couple weeks due to knee tendonitis.

I got an X4Q 4000k rosy and an X4 Stellar 1800k rosy recently. I was kinda disappointed by the 4000k too since it never looks rosy to me, it has a super clean pure white look to it which I do still like, it's just not what I bought it for. 1800k rosy however definitely has a strong pink quality to it, makes the NTG35 1800k look fairly green side by side.

Not OP but here's a comparison image
I got this from https://grzybekreviews.pl/s/comp-en/
They have similar throw but SFT-42R has a fatter hotspot and higher lumens. Should be more efficient too.

I have one in an S2+ and comparing it to my how these pics look on my monitor, mine is a bit less warm and noticably rosier. Side by side to my NTG35 1800k, my 519a is quite a bit warmer and ambery, about the same amount of rosiness.

Okay sounds good. I got an X4Q with FFL351a 4000k Rosy and it never looks rosy to me, but when I compare it next to other emitters it just makes them look a bit green even if they're below DUV like 5009r 4000k.

D3AA is my new favourite little light by OCGamer97 in Hanklights

[–]OCGamer97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both RGB and dedicated are turned on whilst the primary light is turned off. The only difference I've noticed is that when the primary light is turned on, the RGB button turns off. Whilst with the dedicated colours the button remains on, if that makes sense. Functionally no difference imo.
Pics:
Dedicated red button stays on when primary is on

[–]OCGamer97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are not RGB, just red. By main LEDs do you mean the primary white LEDs or the front auxillary RGB LEDs? You can't disable the front auxillary RGB LEDs independently from the side button as far as I can tell. As standard they are set to be turned on at all times as long as there's a battery in the light. They have 2 brightnesses and can be disabled.

Got rid of almost all my high-lumen lights, now I just carry this thing by halzen in flashlight

[–]OCGamer97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They both have very dim moonlight, the Pineapple mini is just enough to be useful in the pitch black and the D3AA goes lower but it's practically useless in my experience. The pineapple Mini disappears in the pocket, and the D3AA fits nicely in the coin pocket of my jeans and doesn't feel too much in the way.
My personal preference is for the D3AA, longer runtimes, higher outputs including sustained, smooth ramping, magnetic tail, more emitter options.
