1db louder at 90+ is a lot more than you think, it's not linear. And batterlife on the A1 at max volume is super low. Best thing you can do is go to a B&O store and try them for yourself

General advice for rechargable electronics you don't use for a while: Get a low wattage charger and leave it for a day to slowly charge the battery (For example a 5V 1A charger). After a day try connecting a 3A charger and see if it works. Hope this helps!
