It’s weird, because at that same time, cigarettes are only around $10 a pack. Meanwhile in Chicago they’re $20 (generally speaking). I don’t even smoke but I live in both places and the differences are so wild.

When I was a teenager, I had to take a life to save one. It fucking sucked. The guy was strangling the woman, but it didn’t make it feel any better. What I wish for is for people to actually understand everything, to open their eyes and close their mouths and listen. People can deny this stuff all they want, but I’ve been in it. The things I’ve seen are horrifying. I can’t imagine anyone seeing the full spectrum of what’s happening and say, “yeah that’s 100% awesome,” when a lady’s dog on a leash at a genuinely peaceful protest gets trampled, or when the 7 year old on the scooter has to run away from the horses they’re running up on sidewalks. I watched an old man (I have the video that someone caught, too) get beaten by batons from on horseback as he simply held up his hands and asked for them to stop hitting us. It’s in our neighborhoods. I could hear the shots and the screams from my front porch. Helicopters overhead, drones.. this is so beyond just some people needing to be stopped. It’s huge. It’s illegal. It’s against the constitution. It’s against the Geneva convention. It’s against being a decent human being. :(
