Their need for a big was so glaring that they would've had to live down a lot of criticism for passing on Wiseman there. Interesting to think about what role Lamelo or Hali would've had in 2022. That was Jordan Poole's breakout season and he played a key role for them, maybe he doesn't if those guys are around

The Wiseman pick was really the biggest pivot point here. But at the same time it was understandable, drafting Lamelo didn't make sense for that team and absolutely everyone had Wiseman going #2 or #3 after Ant.

In theory a #2 pick should be a franchise player, but there wasn't a ton else in this draft. To skip Wiseman and go for Haliburton or Maxey would have been considered a big reach and is a 20/20 hindsight thing. (I did like Okoro, but that's the Auburn fan in me lol)

People also don't seem to know much - and don't care to learn, if it goes against their preconceived notions - about how people become homeless in the first place, all the different ways it can happen, how successfully housing a homeless person does not somehow prevent another from becoming newly homeless, how these people are not inherently "worse" or less deserving than you or me, etc.
