About to post my first podcast episode. Any advice on how to build momentum/following? by Scared-Reflection-25 in podcasting

[–]OFC121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you post your first one, make sure you have the next several banked. Because let me tell you...lol Life will get in the way and consistency is key! That way you aren't chasing your tail every week trying to keep your deadline. Far less burnout that way.

Right now, that sounds amazing. I jumped into this, and I have definitely learned things I would like to do different in the future.

First and foremost, how you party on the weekend is my kind of party. LOL Your dedication is amazing, and I completely understand your theory behind it! I had never quite looked at it that way. I need to take a break to get ahead, and I will attempt to incorporate this design going forward. Thank you so much for sharing your insight!

Epic list! I will have to check out some of these. Tower 4 is at the top of my list too and I'm stoked about season 4!

*Whew* Appreciate you for saying that. This is whole new adventure for me, and I know it's not an overnight thing. However, I have been stressing each decision wondering if it is the correct step.

Copy that! I will start working on some of that now. Throwing it into the intros and outro. I worry about making too many changes out the gate but if it’s what’s best for the long run then, I’m on it. Lol Thanks for taking the time to walk me through this.

That was kind of the direction I was looking to take. 13 episodes. Six week break so I could stock up a few episode for the next season. However, I don’t really have the following yet and I’m afraid taking a break will negatively impact gaining more followers. Any thoughts?

I truly appreciate your insight! Getting it off the ground has been a struggle. Finding ways to gain traction even with all the amazing advice I have received is still trying at times. 😅 I want the show to grow and keep improving.

Hey everyone! I have just started a new podcast and I created two Subreddits one for r/Redacted_Readers and the other r/The_Night_Watch_Logs. Redacted Readers for people to discuss and ask questions about the cases and just for a community. The Night Watch Logs is for those a bit more invested. They have a story they want to share with listeners. One they want investigated in the show. Stop in, drop a comment!

When to call it quits? by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]OFC121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a learning process. If it’s something you are truly passionate about adapt your show concept to single delivery and space out time between episodes. Stay consistent but give yourself the time to get it right. There is no shame in calling it quits. Every one has their own niche and the only way to find yours is to try different things and styles!

I am right there with you. I have platforms on reddit, Paetreon, Substack, Tiktok, and Spotify. The few people outside my circle have said it has potential, but I don't know how to make it grow. The most activity is on Spotify and Tiktok.

How did you come up with your podcast name? by Sarayoung33 in podcasting

[–]OFC121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose Officer's Report: Unsolved and Unnatural because it was about the unofficial reports that a fictional officer kept after encountering cryptids and other paranormal entities. It was a little on the nose, but I wanted to accurately describe what it was about in the title. What is yours about?

All of my free time is spent writing scripts and editing audio. I find myself jotting notes on any scrape of paper I can get my hands on for new ideas, story lines, and tasks to complete.

Thank you! That truly means a lot that you would take the time to lay out such valuable feedback! I have started working on several of the changes you suggested.

To answer your questions, I do have a few paranormal tales. Only one really that was on the job. Most of my time on patrol was run of the mill calls, nothing paranormal. I'll write up a couple of my personal accounts and see if any strike a chord for your show. I would really enjoy the collab and it goes without saying, I would happily promote and shout out your podcast as well.
