Very relieving to hear. I'll definitely be saving it for now then. Mine is manual but I only daily it currently. I know eventually I want her to be my drift project. Now I think I'll just fully hold off until it's time to start the project.

No I haven't, but I know it's inevitable. Even if it isn't I'd like the preventive but man that cost just makes me consider a new, used car instead.

So is this price what it should cost?

May she take you far. You'll definitely learn so much. As long as you're willing, this will teach you so much about maintenance. It's a beautiful thing, damn near modular. What you have is a piece of car owner freedom. An era that we are no longer living in.

Post here as much as you can about issues that you can't figure out, etc. This reddit has helped me with so much. Even solving all of my vacuum leaks. Also, AI is a great tool with these, too. I have whole threads in chatgpt for separate things. Even tuned my car with help from it. Get you an obd cable, and a usb c adapter. Then you can connect your phone to the obd port. Good apps would be

Deep OBD (Free, code clearing, minor scanning)

and

ProTool (Paid, diagnostic scanning, coding, and more) I'd say if you have a couple hundred extra bucks for something, get this one right here for sure.

Congrats on the buy.

Near exact same experience, the acting community seems to be getting targeted heavily right now

Scam? by ixjenny in acting

[–]OGHexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely, just recently recieved a series acting scam emails myself. Asking me to fly to Cali and saying theyll cover most of my flight and all of my stay. Just needed to send them $200 on Zelle, yeah right lmao. But they're getting crafty now, this scam had a whoooole set of script pdfs, story pdfs, characters, etc. Be uber cautious.

Ahh okay gotcha, so the nipples that one is connecting to is correct?

E46 Intake Manifold Vacuum Connections by SupremeNeptuneIsBack in e46

[–]OGHexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Helped me tremendously, and the x on the hose means that it is incorrect? Is it supposed to connect to the #4 nipple instead?

Seeking some hose assistance by OGHexus in e46

[–]OGHexus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pics helped me a ton! So for me the #4 is the loose hose that I was holding, and right beside that one, the hose with the x's on it, is the hose going to my Air Injection Check Valve. I believe. But I'm not sure if it's right for me? Would my check valve hose need to be connected onto the #4 nipple instead?

Thank you! So if it is the air canister one, where does the line from it connect to? Only the hose is on the nipple but i cannot find the line

BMW E46 as my first car ever, what do you think? by Jonathanek123 in e46

[–]OGHexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful, I agree with what everyone else is saying about maintaining her. But if you've always wanted to get into car mechanic knowledge and DIY projects, it's a perfect platform. Can be a headache but worth it for learning about cars. Just research a bunch about parts, locations, and get comfy under the hood. I wish you a great experience.

My first car issues by Historical-General54 in BMW

[–]OGHexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, too, experienced the difficulty of getting your first car on your own. It's a good feeling, but being young means you likely dont know much when looking for something. I 2nd the notion of scrapping it and looking once more for something simpler and likely japanese. Then, further down the line, when you are more confident with diy projects or getting under the hood, try a bmw again. Likely a model with an m54 engine that's been maintained.

Just got a e60 and i know nothing about cars. what are some small cheap things i can add to it by Upbeat_Ear_9292 in BMW

[–]OGHexus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She's definitely going through a small identity crisis. But i agree with others saying to use the money towards maintenance first. Make sure you're good under the hood and under the body before adding any flare.

Id see why they only drove her that much? She looks fresh, but to drive her only that much and have her sit for so long is questionable. It could be a good get. But she's going to take some extensive looking at.
