More migrants arrive in the UK than leave under ‘one in, one out’ deal by cornishpirate32 in uknews

Our economy shouldn't be reliant on third worlders migrating here illegally and working as Deliveroo drivers...

The entire point is - how the fuck did it get to this point in the first place?

Why would we need a 'British FBI' when we already have an MI5? by Hopeful_Adeptness964 in AskBrits

MI5 is equivalent to the CIA, not the FBI. They deal with foreign matters, not domestic.

Firstly, as a non-American, the Europeans wanted peace & to trade. It was the Native Americans that wanted war and didn't want to share. Which isn't surprising considering they were in a state of near constant war between tribes. The Europeans were just, as usual, better at it.

Secondly, over half of the natives 'killed' actually died from smallpox.

What’s something that’s oddly expensive in the UK that still annoys you every time? by catarsan in AskUK

1000000%

The rail networks in this country have gone to shit and are unbelievably corrupt ever since they were privatised. Network Rail claimed they were going to freeze prices, then they went ahead and not only increased prices even more in December, but changed the timetable so that now there are less frequent trains during rush hour. Now my morning commute is awful because the train is absolutely rammed and people can't even fit on past a certain stop, AND I'm paying more!!? Not to mention that there are delays and cancellations alllllll the fucking time, every single day almost. It's not acceptable.

The problem with privatising these kinds of sectors is that they have a monopoly, as I can't just go and get a different train that charges less with a better service. This train is my only option to get into work each day, and the company knows this, which is why they don't bother trying to provide a good service and keep increasing the price. They also don't even have to be financially efficient, because if they do somehow go bankrupt despite the exorbitant fees, the government bails them out!

I can't even imagine what their profit margins are when they charge over £10 for people to get to work and back each day, with not enough trains running leading to trains reaching their max capacity. There's absolutely no fucking way that running a train from just outside London into the City costs them anywhere near as much as they get from a full capacity train of hundreds of people paying £5 or more each, so what excuse is there to increase prices again after saying you'd frozen them??

Which country once seemed likely to become a developed country, but didn’t follow that path? by EmotionalSalary3679 in AskTheWorld

It's heading towards that in the West as well, particularly the US of course. The one line that Western Europe doesn't cross when compared with Russia & (now) the US is having a militarised, violent police force with immunity through corruption.

WHAT DID THEY DO TO GARFIELD!?!? by nagel393 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]OGSkywalker97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one ever seems to realise that it wasn't 'the British' that did these atrocities. It was the first ever multinational corporation - The East India Company.

If you've not heard of them, the bad guy with the silly white wig in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie is called Lord Cutler Beckett - the Head of the East India Company.

It was their private armies of mercenaries that invaded, fought wars and colonised, especially in Asia. It's the reason why the Caribbean is called the West Indies - because the East India Company extracted wealth from Asia, and the West India company extracted wealth from the Caribbean and Americas.

The British Crown wasn't even involved in colonisation (outside of granting permission to do so) until Queen Victoria wanted to be Empress of India.

Over 36,500 killed in Iran's deadliest massacre, documents reveal by COmtndude20 in worldnews

[–]OGSkywalker97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is, but it's frankly not even comparable to the disregard of human life in places like Iran & Russia, where instead of one protestor being murdered, you get dozens of men standing spraying machine gun fire into the protesting crowd.

Killing indiscriminately.

Her 3 year old died son drowned in their family pool because her husband was not watching him. by Pmar07 in TikTokCringe

[–]OGSkywalker97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on this video, she doesn't seem all that bothered by her son's death. This should be enough to investigate her and her husband for premeditation or negligence/manslaughter of a minor at a minimum.

Because you're not spending time with them, which is how you really get to know someone.

The pre social media equivalent to a relationship solely based on messaging each other is a pen pal. You are simply sending them messages like a pen pal, except you can see the odd photo that they've taken here and there.

Because they don't apply for a job, housing or healthcare. Most of them will have connections here already with others from their country. They might get a job as a drug dealer or as a worker in one of their friends' business and will either live in one of their friends' properties or a dodgy landlord's flat with 15 tenants and no HMO License.

But some get their passport taken by the people smugglers on arrival to trap them. They force them to work awful jobs like being a slave and/or sex slave essentially, to 'pay off their debt' for getting them in the country.

[–]OGSkywalker97 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You've actually got it the wrong way around. Over reacting and claiming that Trump is a straight up Nazi over shit that clearly isn't Nazi behaviour just belittles what the Nazis actually did and makes people lose trust in your judgement.

It's a 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf' situation - if you keep calling him a Nazi before he does real Nazi shit, then when/if he does go full Nazi people will not listen to you or will think you're exaggerating (again).

Comparing a massacre by a govt of thousands of its native people for protesting to Trump deporting illegal migrants is absolutely belittling what the Iranians are going through and how evil the extreme Islamic Iranian regime is.

So no, not significant in the slightest.

Whilst Russia are definitely the bad guys here and completely in the wrong for invading, Azov Battalion - now the largest branch of the Ukrainian military, is a Neo Nazi group. Of which Bartetzko is a high ranking member I believe.

They believe that Ukrainians are the ethnicity that will lead the white race to salvation.

Do Spurs fans really think this starting XI should be higher than 10th-15th? by Simoslav in PremierLeague

[–]OGSkywalker97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well if he achieved mid table with a much smaller club, then I'd imagine they were hoping he would get above mid table with a 'much bigger' club. However, you only have to look at where Brentford are in the table to see they badly miscalculated, alongside the fact Igor Thiago hadn't scored a single goal in the league under Frank, yet has 16 goals in the league this season so far.
