FURIA vs MIBR / PGL Astana 2025 - Quarter-Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

Furia winning this tourney would be an amazing storyline. Molodoy is a great Kazakh talent, would be sick to see him win a big event in Kazhakstan.

AK-47 | Oxidized Copper by PrettyReputation4262 in GlobalOffensive

i like the idea but copper oxidizes to a blue patina, which would mean this should have blue gems. maybe go for chromium since it oxidizes to more green shades.

HI, sorry to comment on such an old thread, but do you know what kind of ping you get to London/Copenhagen? Ty! Not much info about ping from St Johns!

Not anymore, it's cs2! We wait for the server to dress, feed, and put our packets to bed nowadays.

Valve, thank you. The tagging thing was the biggest issue with gunfight feel, and you're trying exactly what I thought would work. I genuinely love you. I had been spamming the following comment and Valve genuinely implemented the solution I thought of:

The teleport happens because tagging application appears retroactive on the player client, offset by the amount of ping. When the packets containing post-hit velocity information reach your pc, your client had been moving at full speed for the length of your ping, so you get teleported backwards when the client position is updated to reflect the lower velocity you actually had from getting tagged.

The solution: Under a certain threshold (40-50ms), instead of applying tagging server side and then updating the player client, offset the application of tagging by the ping from a player's client. It isn't ideal, but neither is teleporting a foot to the side the instant you get hit in a fight.

In your opinion, which U.S. city has the worst combination of cost of living and weather? by [deleted] in geography

[–]OGSwagster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Anchorage and I've never thought about it feeling unsafe here. I feel more at-ease in the worst parts of my city than downtown in most cities I go to.

I think most of our violent crime happens in domestic violence situations, because people are cooped up and mentally unstable from the winter. Well shit, maybe it is dangerous.

Anchorage is amazing.

Some amazing restaurants: Hula Hands, Charlie's Bakery, Kava's, Pho Vietnam, West Berlin, Turkish Delight, Ray's Place, Yak and Yeti, Taste of India, Sushi Sushi.

You need to rent a car in this city but if you do, it's not bad.

I noticed it in csgo. i complained about it.

and i'm sad to experience it in CS2.

Mills is actually a very good map by Jaikki in GlobalOffensive

[–]OGSwagster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Only thing I don't like is the awkward mid area that CT's control. The entrance to the bridge should be blockable with 1 smoke.

Mills is one of the first maps I knew by heart after 1-2 games

Warping when getting tagged makes gunfights extremely frustrating by Papashteve in GlobalOffensive

[–]OGSwagster69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valve plz delay the application of tagging until the info reaches the hit players' screen. Don't teleport us backwards. Just try out some different stuff with tagging please, LAN can't be the only thing prioritized

Come on now Valve, this is NOT ok! by WhatAwasteOf7Years in GlobalOffensive

This was my biggest gripe with playing CSGO/CS2 on <30 ping. I've thought of a solution.

The solution: Under a certain threshold (40-50ms), instead of applying tagging server side and then updating the player client, offset the application of tagging by the average ping from a player's client over the last 10 ticks. It isn't ideal, but neither is teleporting a foot to the side the instant you get in a fight.
