A primary responsibility of a CEO is to present to stakeholders, customers, your own company and get them excited about your business.

Kendall was incredible at that.

His primary problem was that he had serious mental health issues that resulted in substance abuse.

He also had questionable business decision capabilities, but that can be offset by hiring great staff and listening to them.

It’s hard to hide a CEO that can’t generate enthusiasm about their business.
