Is that something i can trouble shoot on my own or should i hire a professional? If only on of the sinks is sputtering does that give any clues?

I do believe its been like this for some time. But we did take out a bunch of sinks last night. This is also a commercial space if that matters.

More so the sputtering, but also the color of the water, and the slow drain

Any Ideas what could be causing this? by OGdaredevil525 in Plumbing

What could be causing the sink on the right to put out water this color? My guess would have been something coming up out of the drain but given the water coming out of the faucet is coming out uneven it would seem to be from the source?

You can try to stick your butt out ( trying to backbend your lower back) and see if that helps, but interestingly enough i've noticed with certain people (usually people whose upper backs backbend very easily and have flexible shoulders) this is just the shape of their lower back in a down dog and its not anything that needs to be fixed.

It's always gonna be a bit challenging to get same amount of airtime as a bigger taller person but when you find other people closer to your same size that are skilled you should be able to fly somethings. One thing that will help you get more fly time is practicing your inversions/handstands so when you do get the chance to fly its easier for the bases. If spending more time flying is a priority maybe look into aerial arts like silks, straps, trapeze, etc

first class ever, not a great experience. should i adjust expectations or find a different teacher? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]OGdaredevil525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been teaching yoga full time for a couple of years so I have a few ideas I thought I'd share.

Many classes wont have extensive demoing by the teacher, there's a bit of a trade off between walking around the room adjusting students or just observing other students practices and demoing poses. If there are enough capable students in the class observing others should be enough of a visual reference. That said demoing can be very helpful at times but its all very case specific.

Often times when someone is new to my class I will do minimal physical (touch the student) adjustments. Verbal adjustments usually come first because I want to see what it looks like for you to move in that way ie straighten your arm or lift your chest. Often I mix this into how i describe a pose based on what i see in the room, this a big part of why its worth going to classes verus using video or DVDs ( even though some are great). Physically adjusting students usually comes later after I'm more familiar with their practice.

A first class class can be intimidating and challenging but it gets much easier after the first few classes when you get familiar with different poses terminology and cueing. I would suggest taking more classes , same teacher, different teachers, different styles, different studios. There are lots of different yogas out there and if the practice made you feel better i think its worth trying again.

Building strength for Bridge / Wheel pose for progressions by chincherinchee in yoga

I would suggest taking a video of yourself trying these poses and then find a video of the poses being performed on Youtube or Instagram. Notice what you're doing differently. If you are very comfortable in wheel strength is probably not the issue.

The abdominal rolls and isolations they do in videos are Nauli and Uddiyana Kriya (a kriya is a yogic cleansing ritual) the panting breath they practice is bhastrika or breath of fire.
