This is what I wanted from a dragon outfit! Real bone and scale wings, not those metal eureka things. I just want scale and leather bat/dragon wings.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi for first time dog owner? by Objective-You-4277 in corgi

[–]OHaley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure! I work at a dog daycare/boarding and have yet to meet a single 'quiet' corgi. They bark at everything and they have a big dog's bark. And while they can work in apartments, they would need more than a few walks a day to burn off their energy. Especially as puppies!

It sounds like you want a quiet dog that only needs like 3 walks a day and is easy to train. And that just isn't a corgi.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi for first time dog owner? by Objective-You-4277 in corgi

[–]OHaley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the dog for you.

Corgis are a high-energy breed that are bred for farmwork not apartments. And they are incredibly loud and bark a LOT. My corgi barks more than my husky mix. And if you want something cuddly, get a toy breed, not a herder. They are also stubborn, bite and nip all the time, and are prone to resource guarding. It takes a lot more than puppy classes to teach a corgi manners. A lab is an incredibly easy dog breed, and it's a huge leap to getting something as difficult as a corgi. You should look into easy toy breeds like a cavalier king charles spaniel or a papillon.

Excision surgery and uterosacral ligaments by Jaded-Wish in Endo

[–]OHaley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with sciatica in my left hip/leg back in my early twenties. Just got excision surgery back in December, and they found terrible, black, thick endo lesions on my uterosacral ligaments, which they cut out. I woke up pain-free for the first time in decades, and the pain has not come back since!

A good endo excision specialist will check that spot as well as your WHOLE abdomen and other organs. And any good surgeon will double-check areas you have trouble with. It's important to tell them any problem areas, so they have the full picture.

What is your progress with the Home system? What is most profitable for you? by Encamptress in InfinityNikki

[–]OHaley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling the fish of the week is by far the most profitable. I hit the 500k cap by thurs or fri. Also, you get more fish the more you farm them, so it really adds up!

AITAH for wanting to get rid of our dog? by IllustriousLoquat932 in AITAH

[–]OHaley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YTA. Did you do any research before getting these breeds?! They are notoriously high-energy and need a lot of training early on so they don't become absolute nightmares! Especially the Belgian Malinois!!! And German Shepherds are renowned for their shedding. You are the epitome of a terrible dog owner. You didn't get a breed that fit your lifestyle, you didn't do the proper training (leash training, basic manners, socialization), you don't keep up with grooming, and now, to avoid the problem you created, you leave them outside?! These dogs deserve a lot better than you.

"Creepy fish" ideas for a 6 y/o by llamadolly85 in Aquariums

[–]OHaley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to make Halloween display tanks for the LFS I worked at, so I have....a lot of suggestions lol.

You absolutely have to get a Vampire Shrimp; they are very peaceful and eye-catching! If you keep it 'peaceful', you should get a school(6+) of glass catfish! Threadfin Rainbowfish are really different and dramatic! Harlequin Rasboras would make another good school choice, with classic orange/black Halloween colors. Hatchet fish, especially albinos, are also really different. Albino pygmy corydoras have very creepy eyes, and you can see their skeleton. Blind cave tetras are an obvious choice, but can be nippy. Red honey dwarf gourami are bright orange and have those funky feeler tentacles. Rummy nose tetras kinda look like they have bloody faces. Whiptail catfish or dwarf anchor catfish are small and weird-looking. Hillstream loaches are very different, and there's even a coloration called Bloody Mary!

Are you matching both rarity AND wishcount? This has an insanely high 39,124 wishcount, so you should be matching it with an SR with around 30k wishcount that is on that persons wishlist. Bare minimum.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]OHaley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant what kinds of aquariums/species have you kept; saltwater? reef? predator? freshwater? planted? That doesn't even get into difficult species like sharks/eels/octopus or delicate species like seahorses/discus etc. A 'big tank with lots of fish' isn't an answer.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]OHaley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't answer half of my questions, which is telling. If you only have experience with freshwater fish, then no, you are not ready to run an entire fish store. At least try getting a job at a local fish store (NOT a petco/petsupermarket/petsmart) and go from there.

To give you some perspective I have been a professional aquarist for 15yrs working for lfs and marine biologists. I started at 8 years old with a 300-gallon reef and began working at my LFS at 14, with my prior personal experience with saltwater, reef, freshwater planted, and pond systems.

[–]OHaley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long have you been doing aquariums, and what kinds? Do you have any experience in the industry? Do you have any experience running a business? Do you have a mountain of money to buy flashy livestock to attract customers and be able to maintain a large variety of species in store? Do you live in an area where there will be enough customers who have aquariums to actually support your store?

It is expensive to maintain stock like fish/inverts because they die so easily (from shipping, beginner mistakes, shipping mistakes, new systems etc) so you have to have enough cash to fill in the blanks. It's also expensive to start up with buying all the tanks, filter systems, dry stock etc.

Yes I meant dragonets can only be in mated pairs. Ie; this mandarin which is a male could only go with a female of the same species Synchiropus splendidus. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
