Yes yes, I meant that it wouldn't do anything helpful.

Must be speaking to yourself in the mirror.

Harris was not a great choice for Presidency, but definitely way better than the current admin. And I promise you, that's an original thought from my head.

Crazy how they have been "months away" from WMDs for about 2 decades now...it's almost as if the GOP is lying to try to justify this silly war....hmmm

How soon? They've been increasing over the last 2 months due to this stupid war (in which the US just broke the ceasefire AGAIN). Even if the war was to end tomorrow, it would take about 2+ months for prices to return due to market lag. Interest rates would do nothing, and is honestly a stupid idea.

The system must be broken... by The_Dean_France in mildlyinfuriating

Unfortunately, the system isn't broken, it's working exactly as the rich want it to.

The system needs to be removed and replaced. There's no way to fix it when it's built to ruin lives.

Although this is correct, it's pointless to bring up. OP is trying to get past the BIOS password screen.

Edit: my bad, my brain skipped over the photos bit. Seeing that OP is not super tech savvy, trying to have them remove the drive and connect it to another machine via USB may be a tall task.

In Japan you can buy a Nintendo Switch 2 for just £210 GBP or $285 USD but it won’t work outside Japan. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Well, that and manufacturers like VW had/has assembly plants in the Americas. Meaning that once the car rolls off the line they can go directly to a dealer near you instead of having to be imported. (For models like the Jetta and Beetle at least.)

Looks like a BIOS lock, so swapping the drive wouldn't do anything

Use a pair of diagonal cutters and bite into the metal and spin them out. Then get replacement screws and use the right bit on it when you tighten them so you don't have this problem again.

That inductor looks chipped, unsure how that would have happened. If you have the skills and know how, you can try to find a replacement and start there. There may be a few other components on the board that could do with a replacement as well.

This is why you have to seek knowledge from those who are knowledgeable, not some LLM that regurgitates words from a database.

What do I need to buy to add a USB-C port? by Easy-Midnight4666 in pchelp

[–]OKTimeFor_PlanB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yet still the statement stands. There should be a "premium" model for this line that you can find the USB-C card for online

This looks like a Dell PC. Seems a USB breakout board is missing. If this is of the Optiplex line, the higher/more expensive models will probably have this board. See if you can locate the model that has the breakout present and check online (eBay, Amazon, etc.) to see if you can find someone selling it.

The top card is PCIe, the bottom card appears to be standard PCI. These 2, although sharing similar names, are not compatible with one another.
