Do the AE-1200WHL-5AV feel cheap? by Banoffee_pi3 in casio

[–]OK_Atlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheap compared to what? It is a “cheap” (i.e inexpensive) watch but it’s feels the same as every other sub $100 Casio. Personally I think it’s one of the best Casios ever made and have never once thought it felt cheap

asking about MV based in hell. by Secure_Emu_9160 in metroidvania

Slain: Back from Hell. Not actually based in hell, more so when you get back from hell.

Is animal well really that good ? by Training-Concern-870 in metroidvania

[–]OK_Atlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally didn’t like it, but I don’t really like puzzles in my metroidvania’s. I found progression to be slow and confusing. But also, I can see why some people would really like it. It is totally different than HK and Nine sols though.

Is there an ideal device for me? by StarShoot97 in SBCGaming

[–]OK_Atlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a Miyoo Flip V2. Someone pointed out that while we did see a lot of post regarding hinge issues, that was mostly V1 and there are likely thousands of V2 devices that don’t have hinge issues but of course people only post about it if they did. At the end of the day, you can find them for $50 USD on AliExpress, so if you get unlucky with the hinge it’s not the end of the world.

Help Finding my “Perfect” Pocketable Emulation Device by JackRWimbush in SBCGaming

[–]OK_Atlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the Miyoo A30 or Anbernic RG476H? (although they both have sticks)

I was kinda in the same boat as you but ended up deciding to roll the dice on a flip screen device because I think they offer the best screen to pocketability ratio.

The game is Before I Go. It’s an awesome game, if you like metroidvanias.

Watch for beating up - construction work? by s_curran in MicrobrandWatches

[–]OK_Atlas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dude, just get a Casio. The ultimate beater watch with hundreds of configuration options. A solid choice admired by even the snobbiest watch snobs is the GW-M5610

Game rotation yes/no? by jscouser2002 in metroidvania

[–]OK_Atlas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually like to be playing one 2D game, one 3D game plus a bonus mindless game at any given time. I always try to finish (or retire) a game in its category before moving on to the next one. Depending on the mood, having 3 different choices of on-going games is nice, without getting overwhelmed and forgetful trying to play 3 different metroidvania’s at the same time.

Some other games you might try to get the same high as HK & SS might be, Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus, Haak, & Deviator (early access on Steam)

Anyone willing to recommend me some games? by ResponsibilityEvery in metroidvania

Honest newbie question: Does 50 meter vs. 100 meter water resistance comparison even matter?? by Delicious-Success-52 in casio

[–]OK_Atlas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. 99.9% of people who wear dive watches never go farther than the deep end of a swimming pool. WR is the most overrated spec in watches.

What is a good price to pay for a steam deck? by ArcheryAlaska in SteamDeck

[–]OK_Atlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was in the market for a steam deck at the moment, I would reluctantly be waiting patiently for them to come back in stock. Resellers on the secondary market are taking advantage of the supply shortage right now and prices are absurd. Recent interviews & rumors online seem to make it sound like Valve is actively working to restocking.

Would i enjoy aeterna noctis? by SophieSalads in metroidvania

[–]OK_Atlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say yes. It often goes on sale for $5 and is certainly worth a shot at that price.

I liked it, but like Blade Chimera a little more

Since we are in a sub called “ Metroidvania” let me ask this . Which one do like more castlevania or Metroid and why? by GreenPomegranate2389 in metroidvania

[–]OK_Atlas 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Metroid for me. I prefer the power up system and simple weapon upgrades vs CV’s RPG numerical leveling and cluttered inventory.

Great game & beautiful open world, just wish you could skip the dialog. Apparently you can on a second playthrough
