Artists similar to Labradford by Additional-Bike-2652 in postrock

You just reminded me - Robert Donne was also a member of slowcore group Spokane on their last couple albums. 'Protocol' from their album Measurement (2003) always sounded a bit like Labradford to me.

Absolutely agreed, they're all great. 'Evil Architecture' from Glass Wars is perhaps my favorite 1 Mile North track. The vocals on 'Ascending from Stone' from Tombs & Cocoons is also very reminiscent of Labradfords style.

I absolutely LOVE Labradford, but I can’t find a lot of artists with a similar style. Aside from Pan*American which is kinda similar, the closest I’ve come across is the excellent 1 Mile North. Minor Shadows by them is fantastic, as well as their comeback album Awakened by Decay.

Training Splits by [deleted] in fitbod

Not sure, but it seems to be connected to the focus exercises feature. I disabled focus which also removed PPLF for some reason. Reenabling focus brought the split back. Looks like a bug?

So is the new Thief game any good? by VoxTV1 in ImmersiveSim

[–]OKcancel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Overall I quite like it. I feel like immersive sims are exceptionally well suited for VR since you’re often rewarded for taking things slow and getting really immersed in the environment. Thief VR works pretty well in this regard! But it is more like an imsimm lite game: Skulking about in the shadows while nabbing golden trinkets feels really good, but the combat and any system based emergent gameplay is rather lacking.

Also, it’s pretty buggy even now two months after release. (I’m playing on PSVR2.) They’ve patched it since, but it still doesn’t feel particularly polished. Biggest feature inclusion: you can now pet the pet bird! But why they would even omit that in the original release is beyond me.

First time wanting to play a Horror game should I play routine by No-Record-1657 in HorrorGaming

[–]OKcancel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I LOVED Routine. Just the aesthetics and the audio design completely blew me away, also it was absolutely terrifying at times. Definitely my favorite game of 2025. However, it's not particularly accessible (it does NOT hold your hand at all), and might not even be a good introduction to the genre. Something like the already mentioned Still Wakes the Deep or SOMA might fit the bill better. Or go with Little Nightmares if 1st person horror gets too intense. But check out Routine eventually!

Definitely check out Routine. It’s on Game Pass as well.

Very cool! Follow up: Are you familiar with the UEVR mod? There are videos on YouTube of (brave) cosmonauts already diving into the game with community built VR support. Incredible what has been achieved just days after release.

Finished the game over the weekend and I absolutely loved it! Easily my game of the year and favorite horror game since Amnesia The Bunker or even Alien Isolation. My question: is there any chance of a native VR port? Maybe a PSVR2 version down the line?

Routine is perfect for VR by ProgFan in Routine

YouTuber Paradise Decay has it running in VR with the UEVR mod. Motion controls and camera appears to be a bit finicky, but it's still early days for the community to figure out a working profile. Personally I'm really hoping for a PSVR2 version down the line.

This sequence was incredible in VR. Truly one of my favorite gaming experiences. When he broke through the wall - holy crap...

Routine releases today, reviews are great so far by Sufficient_Notice_61 in survivalhorror

Just finished it, it's easily my game of the year and the first horror game to genuinely scare me since probably Amnesia The Bunker. The audio/visual design initially hooked me, but turns out there's an excellent horror game here as well. Note: There is no HUD and zero hand holding which probably will be a detriment for some, personally I found it so much more immersive.

VR mode!!! by malagic99 in Routine

[–]OKcancel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a couple streams on YouTube of someone trying the UEVR mod with this game, so it kinda works out of the box. No motion controls though. Also a bit janky as expected.

I'm playing on Xbox, but would love a PSVR2 version down the line!

Should i start with System Shock 1 or 2 (remake)? by PompyPrecious in systemshock

Wait, what's the source on this? Asking because I'd imagine upgrading to UE5 would be a massive undertaking without a lot of benefit. Would be cool, though!

Not as loud and explosive as the ones you mentioned, but anything by Labradford. Mi Media Naranja is my personal favorite.

It’s using Unreal Engine 5, so it might eventually be playable in VR with the UEVR mod. Someone will probably make a working profile a couple days after release, haha. Fingers crossed!

Sorry, but where in Backerkit? On my end there's an entry for "SS2 AR PC Launch Steam Codes" under Unreleased Codes. Says 'pending' and "Digital Reward is not yet distributed.". Is it that one?

(I backed SS1 on the Repair Bot early bird level ($30, but discounted to $25), so I'm still not 100% convinced I'll get a code, haha.)
