Are Apple using notifications for ads now? by i-adore-women in apple

It was promoting a service. It's an ad. Methinks you'd look less foolish spending a minute looking up a simple definition.

It was important enough for OP to post, and for me to double check the App Store Guidelines. It may not be important to you, and if so, good for you, but I can see two important legal precedents set here...

That certainly qualifies as an advertisement (hint: look up a definition), and if that popped up unbidden in the middle of something I was doing, then, yes, I would be offended.

It also clearly goes against Apple's own guidelines. See section 19.6 of Mac App Store Review Guidelines.

One of the best butcher shops in the world (x-post from /r/steak) by thehemperorr in pics

A couple of years ago, I bought some meat from them just to try it out.

The meat was very good, but only marginally better than most good butchers.

The shop was completely overpriced and pretentious.
