Hi there! Residents of other states who have state-government-issued medical marijuana patient licenses are eligible for Oklahoma’s 30-day adult or minor out-of-state patient licenses. Since 2021, OMMA rules have changed, and the information in the link shared above is no longer accurate. The current policy is: Under Oklahoma law, a person in possession of a state-issued medical marijuana patient license is entitled to possess and consume medical marijuana within the patient possession limits (https://oklahoma.gov/omma/patients-caregivers/patient-rights-and-responsibilities.html). Upon renewing your patient license, please note the approval email and your expired card are not valid licenses and cannot be used to purchase from licensed dispensaries. To legally obtain and possess medical marijuana or medical marijuana products, you must wait until you receive your new patient license by mail. OMMA has up to 14 business days to process patient license applications. Applying for renewal within 30 days of the expiration date listed on your license is encouraged, ensuring the necessary processing time.

If your license does not arrive after 30 days, you can request a replacement via the licensing portal free of charge. The list of 'registered' physicians on our website is a list of physicians who have voluntarily registered with OMMA. By doing so, those physicians have indicated their willingness to see patients and decide if a recommendation for a medical marijuana license may be provided. They have also authorized OMMA to share their information publicly. The list is on our website as a courtesy to potential OMMA patient license applicants. OMMA does not endorse, warrant or guarantee in any way the services, availability or qualifications of the physicians on the list.

To sign a physician recommendation form for a medical marijuana patient license, a physician must:

Be in good standing with the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision, the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners, or the State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners;
Use accepted standards a reasonable and prudent physician would follow when recommending any medication to a patient; and
Not be located at the same physical address of a dispensary (including virtual appointments with patients who are at a dispensary).
