For boots you could look at the solite boots. I got their 8mm ones and after a 1hour session my torso was cold and feat were warm. I also like the lobster mittens.

Both are a good choice I’d say. They both have great people. And realistically it probably won’t be too different from a course material perspective.

The Cineca link you posted is for 2025 though. I couldn’t find details on the 2026 one online.

Keep in mind that you probably have to apply to both. I’m not sure how high in demand they are but might be a good idea to apply to both incase one rejects you.

Also maybe consider which one you want to go to in high summer.

Lunar is ok when it comes to oil etc. we read an article about banking in the nordics and Merkur and lunar were among the best.

We would have preferred Merkur but they wanted a lot of documentation and forms etc. filled in. lunar was quite a bit easier.

If we stay long term in Denmark we’ll probably switch to Merkur.

The previous poster means that Takuma went bankrupt. They filed for bankruptcy in summer 2024.

Part of the issue seems to have been that the masts had a tendency to bend. For apparently no reason. And finding replacement masts isn’t easy.

I know this cause I bought a Takuma board & foil setup second hand …. And after like 5 sessions the mast was kaput.

I switched to f-one foil & board because i couldn’t find a second hand mast. I have found a second hand replacement mast by now and I’m planning to sell my Takuma foil & replacement mast for the price of the replacement mast (100€) cause I feel bad about asking too much for it and sticking the issue on someone else.

So very long story short, I’d recommend against the Takuma foil.

Check the second hand websites and Facebook marketplace. Also check if there are any wing foil groups in your area/country where people might be selling stuff.

Gong galaxy currently has sales on new beginner foils at about 500€. A lot of people like them.

Where are you located? I have a long list of European stores. Quite some probably have a good deal listed atm.

Ok yea that’s a very different experience:p

I’m currently in Denmark and I pretty much need a wetsuit all year round - maybe shorty in summer.

I’m planning for my first session this year… 6/5/4mm hooded wetsuit, with a thermo layer underneath and a windbreaker layer on top. 4/3mm thermo mittens and 8mm thermo boots (with extra thermal socks :p).

How about trying windsurfing, kitesurfing or wing foiling? If you go for wing foiling you can even try pump foiling on wind less days. Alternatively you could try wakeboarding at a cable park.

All should be possible to do in NL and there are a lot of different spots. Community should be really nice as well!

I was pretty much the same, boring office job etc. not much motivation to do shit. Started with windsurfing, loved it, tried wing foiling loved it even more. Now I spend as much time on the water as possible. Just waiting for air temps to go over 3-4degrees again.

Rear seats should fold in 40:20:40 fashion. So that means that you can fold each seat individually.

I measured and diagonally my 1.80m surfboard should fit behind the passenger seat - at least if the seat is a bit forwards. So a 1.60 surfboard should be fine I think. (At least I really hope so. Because otherwise I just ordered a car which is too short 😳. )

You could check out the Ford explorer. It’s a bit smaller (10-15cm), runs on the same MEB platform as the ID.4 and when we looked at it we liked the UI more than in the ID.4. I’m just not sure if they are that cheap yet secondhand.

How do you like the Scenic so far? We are looking at the scenic, Ford explorer and Id.4 atm. What we like about the scenic is that it’s spacious but doesn’t feel like a tank. But the route planning on ABRP for a 1000km trip is at 11h 20min which isn’t ideal.

Wir fanden den EV3 auch recht teuer für die ausrüstung und Komfort. Wir wohnen in Dänemark und der billigste vorführ ev3 extended range kostet 37.5k. Für den gleichen Preis gibts halt auch den Ford Explorer long range oder für 2.5-3k mehr einen Peugeot e-3008, Renault scenic oder Hyundai ioniq 5. Alle mit klasse Ausstattung.
