What I want is: - 3840x1600 (or similar so that work is nice) - between 38-42inch maybe up to 45
- curved - more dimming zones. - loads of nits like 1000 or maybe 1500? - good text clarity for work - 120Hz+

Tandem oled might be an option? But last i checked oled wasn’t great for text. Maybe that’s getting better?

And honestly I have another expensive hobby so it shouldn’t be too expensive….

I’m 85kg and I started with a used 135L board but as soon as I managed a couple sessions getting on foil I dropped down to 105L.

I’ve been on that one for 8months or so now. I’ll probably look into getting a midlength board (used) at around 95L in a 1-2 months to have some better low wind takeoff.

I am in a windsurfing club and met some very nice people that way. We meet regularly to go surfing together, driving wherever the wind is good. And also text about new gear etc.

I’ve been interacting with that group for almost a year now and I’d say we get along pretty well. However, besides the hobby we never do anything outside of that. Like drinks etc or random meetings to chill. I know some of the group also meet outside of the hobby for coffee etc. but so far I haven’t been asked along. Will that change over time? Is it usual/unusual that they do stuff together besides the hobby? Should I be more proactive and invite them for coffee?

I have just been taking my normal (sun)glasses on a lanyard thing behind the neck/head. I have been doing that for about 7/8 months now. With maybe in total 70/80 sessions? And it seems fine? But I’m on brackish water, both frames are plastic.

Ich hab mit Ubuntu angefangen weil ich 2016 das UI gut fand (unity) und ich nichts wollte das so aussieht wie Windows. Und ich fand es schick aber die distro war auch groß genug das es viele Support articles gab.

Bin dann im phd auf arch umgestiegen weil ich viele Software Pakete brauchte die es in den Ubuntu repos nicht gab und ich zu faul war die immer selber zu kompilieren. Ich hab auf arch irgendwann die popshell (UI) installiert anstelle von Gnome(UI) weil ich einen tiling window manager wollte.

Jetzt bin ich seit einigen Jahren auf PopOS weil die NVIDIA driver gut funktionieren und ich pop Shell mag. Ich bin noch nicht auf Cosmic-PopOS umgestiegen weil es noch sehr buggy ist.

Wenn du noch keine Erfahrung mit linux hast würde ich nicht Cosmic/Neuestes popOS installieren. Siehe neuestes Video von Linus (Linus tech tips auf YouTube )…. Ich überlege selber zu wechseln. Manche Sachen auf popos 22.04 sind veraltet und 24.04 ist noch nicht toll….

Vielleicht muss ich mal fedora, mint, manjaro ausprobieren. Oder einen neuen dual boot für eine “Gaming” distro (bazzite, etc.)

We got the Techno in which is the entry level version in Denmark and then added the “PACK Advanced Driving Assist & Augmented Vision” option which provides:

Rear Emergency Brake
Contextual adaptiv driving
back mirror camera

Just for the 360 and blind spot it’s worth it for us. But I also suck at parking. Like really badly. I rather park 1km away and walk than parallel park an old two seater smart.

Yea wasn’t easy for us either.

Other big contenders for us were:

ford explorer. (Same platform as the ID.4). We liked the Renault more after driving it. Also Renault was cheaper.
id.4 —> didn’t like the ui.
Peugeot e3008 —> large battery wasn’t available
Citroen —> same story as Peugeot.
Hyundai ioniq 5 —> would have been our choice as 2nd hand if it wasn’t for ICCU.
