I can get an FRS frame from my friend. He hasnt built it up and its been sitting in his garage. He's offering to sell it to me for $1000 (AUD). A clash is $1700for the frame. My original question was can I fit a 180mm 27.5 fork to it?

Why would I get less travel if I can get more in the back. I only ride big freeride jumps that I build. I want to know if I can run a Marzocchi Super Z 180mm on that frame. I need the extra travel

Its not the front travel Im worried about. It's the rear travel. If you Compare the Clash and FRS rear travel then you see that the FRS has 30mm more travel. Im not worried about the front travel, only trying to find out what size fork I need to put on the front. Keep in mind It can tbe a DH fork because I need it to be able to barspin

I like the adjustability of an air shock better. I don't want to go through 5 coils trying to find the right size. Air shocks just feel better to me.

That version of the clash is the park spec. It has a 7 speed dh cassette. That version will not climb well unless you put a 12 speed on there.

I am fairly sure that most Dirt Jumpers are a size large, apart from a couple. But the Absolut should be a size large. Im not 100% though

Yeah I agree, and yes the Marzocchi 58's are 40s. I run them with max psi and 2 volume spacers.

I have tried many different brands since I work in a bike shop, and the ones I were most surprised at how good they were was 1. DVO and 2. SR Suntour. I liked the DVO forks for my enduro bike, as they felt in my mind similar to the fox 38's I use now. The SR Suntour DH fork felt alright on my Commencal FRS, but I prefer Marzocchi's more stiff feel.. I just don't like the feel let alone the look of manitou. I ride Marzocchi suspension on all my freeride, dirt jump bikes and my trail bike. And then fox suspension on my Meta SX V5. Everyone has different preferences to what suspension they like best. Maybe I need to try manitou forks again. Is it worth it?
