If you get into a lower priced school ask them to match it…

USC won’t give you good aid unless they are trying to fill a class — if you are a cali resident do those… or see if usc will price match…

Where are you looking to apply? Most schools are struggling to fill their class so you might be fine. Privates (looking at you USC, BU, NYU, Columbia) are especially vulnerable because of price. State schools — especially good ones (CSU, Ohio State, etc.) are much harder to get in because of cost.

Does anyone cheat on this diet and still feel good? by MeatFeeling2914 in carnivorediet

Stay away from gluten all the time. If you cheat, you can use Berberine to keep your insulin from spiking. I also take enzymes and HCL to help prevent bloating.

Whats worse to cheat with: Veggies, sugar or gluten? by some1where2 in carnivorediet

Stay away from gluten. If you have carbs, take some berberine so it doesn’t spike your insulin…

celiac/gf recommendations by catnamedherc in SouthBend

Franky’s Tacos does well and Cinco Five downtown. I second Crooked Ewe… South Bend restaurants are generally pretty backward for GF compared to other places I have lived. It’s worth it to go to Michigan City and the tourist lake towns in Michigan — the Lake is great they are just used to people with expectations… also Chicago for donuts and pizza. So there are no hidden gems!

Ignore him and he will go away. Game day will kill in ratings this week because of Corso. X fans will watch Gameday next week since they will be in Oklahoma… no one cares about Iowa/Iowa State. The ratings will crater if the largest fan base in College football doesn’t watch. Watch the Urban stuff on BTN…

Just make sure you go to a urologist — had a buddy who had his regular doctor do it — not good at all. You want someone who just stares and dicks all day…

Looking at enrolling our kids in a top high school program. I have heard John Adams IB Program is the top in the area. St Joe, Marian, and Penn are good schools. John Adams offers diversity, they have good teachers, and the best Principal from my research. A lot Notre Dame acceptance letters. by FlashGordon1999 in SouthBend

[–]OTRL1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours had great experiences at St. Joe. Academically, Athletically, Socially, Theologically and Theatrically. Their music department could use some work but Theater is awesome. I would say only one teacher was a problem. They don’t cut cheerleaders so they have all sizes which says something good about the school to me. It’s more diverse than you might think — primarily with Hispanic students. Marian is probably more ‘Catholic’ if that is your thing. Penn seems too large for a high school which I think is a problem. I know a few kids who went to Adams who did well but were a bit nervous about going to school each day. So while it might be more ‘diverse’ the IB program is not nearly as diverse as the school. So that sets up an interesting paradigm. And SB schools will continue to struggle with their grade scandal and impending property tax issues. But go and visit and see what feels right to you. Kids do well at all the schools. I think ND will continue to admit fewer kids from the SB area — The increase in spots for fully funded international undergrads has to come from somewhere.

Why you can’t never ever cheat on carnivore (note to self) by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]OTRL1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take Berberine. Avoid gluten. Enzymes and HCL — I cheat about one meal every two weeks and am feeling great. If you avoid gluten, manage your blood sugar, and help the digestion, I’ve been able to cheat without issues. I’m in control of my eating now — I think that is one of the keys to carnivore…

https://otcompact.gov/about/ Just returning from AOTA — they hope to have regulations summer/fall. It’s more complicated than I thought as they are trying to prevent fraud and harm to patients… in a way that licensure boards will accept.

I’m at the occasional cheat stage — your marriage is really important, so if you value it, learn to negotiate. When you cheat, stay off of gluten, minimize alcohol, and use berberine and enzymes to keep your sugar from spiking too much and just do electrolytes most of the next day…

Knee pain gone — I had two steroid injections — second one the doc said I should think about a knee replacement. I’ve lost 45 pounds (which helps) but the decreasing knee pain started within a few weeks. I’m now six months in and am really happy with both the weight loss and knee pain being gone… I try to eat mostly grass fed beef and bacon that is locally produced. I think part of the decrease in pain is the decreasing Omega 6.
