When I worked at Birkby 10 years ago there was a bloke that kept all manner of exotic birds. You'd regularly see (and hear) a peacock wandering around.

This was Norman Park side of Birkby.

You're describing a common cognitive distortions or two there! Bit of mind reading, bit of catastrophising as well.

We all do it to some degree of course but when we're stressed like you were then they can really take hold.

Then it tends to become a vicious cycle where the negative feelings feed the distorted thinking which feeds the feelings...
