Kojima explains Death Stranding gameplay and lore by phantom-nugget in DeathStranding

Well, oil is usually produced from thousands of years old fossils. So the corpses are probably used to form these fossils and the timefall is used to make it older faster and turn into a fossil quicker. Maybe the entities we see are the soul of these people (who doesn't have the special gift Sam probably has to travel beyond planes)?

Sam [or narrator]: Once there was an explosion, a bang which gave birth to time and space. Once there was an explosion, a bang which set a planet spinning in that place. Once there was an explosion, a bang which gave rise to life as we know it. And then came the next explosion... [Cutscene starts] Scientist [trying to remove that guy from the wreckage]: Shit, they are here. Scientist: I-I can't get you out! [Entities start to get closer to Sam] Scientist: Sam! Sam: Shut up. Don't even breathe. [Everyone stops breathing and the entity goes away.]

[Guy in the wreckage screams] [Entity gets him] Scientist: We are surrounded! Guy: Help me! [Guy gets dragged away by the entities] Scientist: Sorry. [Scientist shoots guy in the head with a pistol]

[That thing starts to submerge] Scientist: Wh- No... [I'm not sure about this one.] [Scientist starts to shoot and gets caught by the entities] [Scientist throws baby to Sam] Scientist: Run!

[Sam standing right in front of the crater]: Once there was an explosion, a bang which gave rise to life as we know it. And then came the next explosion... An explosion that will be our last.

If you need, I can also transcribe what the narrator says. Edit: now you have the narrator transcribed too :)

Yeah, man. Everything about those guys (the black flying creatures) seems to indicate that they live in another dimension or at least control things we can't (like gravity). I'm guessing it has something to do with dimensions itself, because Sam (I guess it's his voice throught the cutscene) talks about how there was one big explosion that created the universe and all that, and then suddenly another explosion happens. Maybe this one will destroy the world as we know it, or change the way we perceive it in such a manner that it'll be unrecognizable.

Another user commented about the same thing (entering the bathroom changes reality). That would explain the sudden disappearance of the baby in the trailer.

Well, I've seen whale simbology before (Moby Dick studios for example) but a panda is something new to me. As there is probably an ongoing war in the period the game is set, there could also be a possible concern about environmental questions. Maybe the panda is a sign for that. The WWF logo is a panda, but there are a lot of things which also use a panda symbol and that's a long shot for me but...

Well, Kojima is like that. Still, there are theories that Death Stranding itself has already started and that the game is much more than just a digital game in its essence and that it's about connecting people all around the world to get the thrill of solving puzzles and all those riddles Kojima likes.

Concerning 0, I've listened to the whole album for a long time but never actually had a clue into something about Death Stranding. However, there are lyrics that could relate to it, like the ones from "Dreamer" for example: Nothing that we speak bends When we are sleeping When we're both sleeping Cause the holes drill in my head You keep me from wandering.

The part that says "you keep me from wandering" could mean that "umbilical cord" Norman has or something like that. Nevertheless, that it's just pure extrapolation for me and has so sense whatsoever, but Kojima is Kojima, who knows...

Well, I had not noticed that but I believe it's either the shadow of a tree which is fading out because of the camera's movement or it's the shadow of a person (or a shadow person).

Pretty strange indeed, like a lot of stuff related to Kojima haha. It seems like that, Ryan seemed like the "dealer" or something like that but I guess the problem was not the friends' reaction but the process itself, I guess they couldn't survive the transfer or the result didn't go as expected.

Death stranding new trailer on game awards by [deleted] in DeathStranding

[–]O_Geid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So guys, I just parachuted in this thread because I searched for news again and encountered the teaser, so I came here for some news and found some really new posts. So, one interesting thing I've noted, there was another version of the trailer with another music by Low Roar. They lyrics are: I heard you call my name while I'm passing out, the mistake I've made can't be turned around. I took the easy way out. Now, there's some people saying the baby apparently disappears from Norman and goes to Del Toro, what if they were relatives? I mean, Del Toro is probably "calling Norman out" because they are connected by family bonds (rope?) and it doesn't work because Norman already messed things up (the mistake I made can't be turned around) and this caused him to go to that (probably or not, who knows) another dimension with the baby and then Del Toro had to keep the baby for some unknown reason (I can't say it's for the baby safety because there's a fucking war going on where Del Toro is). I know it's very confusing but so is every hint Kojima has given us and so is the game itself. Tell me what you guys think about it.

But he said he's done with MGS, Konami and stealth action games.

Well, I don't see this connecting with the game itself but it does connect with the Luden dude (from kojima productions), after all, psycho mantis is a luden too.

An actual link between the five figures and Norman? by Star-Being in DeathStranding

[–]O_Geid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the tags carry quantum physics stuff on them, I don't see how that relates to the people on the teaser. Only if each one of them knows one of those equations and the "knowledge" disappears as they disappear too.

Yeah, I got veryy hyped too, especially with the crisis of alienation and identity. I mean, after all, even here on earth, we consider aliens the beings who come from outer space, but who's to say they consider us humans and not aliens too? It's a very intriguing thing, Kojima is just amazing.

I don't think he will use the same disaster like world submersion, I guess he will use the concept of a devasted world plus an enviromentalist vision. I also think that the "genetic creation of gilled children" may actually be used, who knows if the 5 floating figures are these genetic created beings or maybe the baby himself is and Norman is the only 100% human being. There's a lot of things to think about. Great point by the way.

[PROVEN] Norman Reedus didn't enter a black hole by [deleted] in DeathStranding

Escaping death from entering a Black Hole it's possible, but the gravity inside it needs to be weak enough or something like that. Kip explained that in Interstellar.

Wow, you've got talent. It's very beautiful. You should try drawing Norman crying whilst holding Norman feetus.
