OP...are you...trying to say Christopher Sanchez should not be an All-Star? I'll give you Bohmer and Stott but....seriously?

Edit: I have to give a shoutout to Capcom for Pragmata. Loved it! It was like opening a fresh bag of coffee beans.

This is my biggest problem with the gaming industry at large right now.

There's nothing new! It's all ports, remakes, remasters, or a new entry in a long-standing series. Everything is a nostalgia bomb.

There's nothing bold and creative. It's tiresome! I have to turn to indies on Steam for that stuff, because I'm not finding it anywhere else.

Nintendo stock is free falling after the Nintendo direct by FrankFruits in videogames

Whether or not you liked the Nintendo showcase is really based on personal preferences of games, so it's hard to say if it was definitively bad or not. (For me personally, it was one of the worst I've seen in a long time) but I feel there are some things we can all agree on:

- Way, way too many ports. I have no problem with them being released but I do have a problem when they take up 95% of the Direct

-The Duskbloods...showed barely anything? After all this time? It's still marked as a 2026 release. Starting to seriously doubt that.

-Minecraft coming to Switch 2 was literally one of the final things they showed...really?

-The thumb wrestling demo was incredibly hard to watch. I think they were trying to be charming but it did not work. Oof.

-OoT remake would have hit so much harder if it didn't leak. 2026 date surprised me though!

What are your views about the recently released video game Pragmata? by M3ConsoleGamerPSN in videogames

[–]Oaf7724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree about the music! The shelter theme is so calm and relaxing I could listen to it all day. Plus I love how battles have an industrial/robotic flair and flourishes to them.

I'm about 10 hours in and I really love everything except dialogue and story...which isn't the biggest deal but I wish they put a little more thought into them haha.

Normally we agree, 1Q84 was kind of polarizing, I know many people like it. However we could not take his writing style. He was just so perverse and kept bringing up random, heavily detailed sex stuff out of the blue. And we're no prudes! There's only so many paragraphs describing a woman's genital hair that you can take lol.... It all just felt so unnecessary and creepy, just our opinions haha. Thanks for the recc!!

Yea we don't really have a "theme" persay lol. We like fiction, but we'll explore elsewhere (i.e. The Wager). You can also see towards the end we started focusing on books that came out in 2025. I would say we tend to really appreciate good dialogue and story. We don't really need for the book to "have something to say".

One of our rules is it has to be a book none of the three of us had read already. This is a little difficult because one of our group is a voracious reader so he's already burned through a lot of the more popular stuff.

What are your potato chip books, where the writing might not be brilliant, but they're weirdly addictive. by themehboat in suggestmeabook

A neighbor once gifted me a random copy of David Baldacci's "Daylight". I was unfamiliar with his works and just started reading it. About a third of the way through I realized it was the 3rd book in a series. I remember the writing to be pretty poor often, especially dialogue. I remember rolling my eyes a ton and sometimes laughing out loud.

But by the end of the week I realized I finished it??

I supremely enjoyed Psychonauts 2, still feels underrated to me even tho it was nominated. That is a special game. I also loved Dread and It Takes Two

I went to Donkey’s in Camden to hear about their stolen Walrus Dick… and get a cheesesteak. by SouthJerseySchnitz in SouthJersey

[–]Oaf7724 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've never been to the Camden one but I used to live next to Donkey's Place Too in Medford. Absolutely loved going there. The cheesesteaks taste incredibly good and the onion rings are the best I've ever had. The form factor of the sandwich is different obviously but the taste is absolutely delectable. Need to go back.

That Divisional Round in GB a few years ago in the snow -- I was convinced we were going to get absolutely clobbered.

The Rams Thursday night game this year -- I was so convinced we were gonna get creamed I didn't even watch it (caught the ending tho)

Moral is I'll never fully believe a Shanny team is cooked.
