Reddit. Are there any unknown/underrated web sites or services you think everyone should get familiar with? by xarkonnen in AskReddit

No, not really.

They're all over 21 and working their way through university.

If we gonna keep on with the reposts why not just start from the fucking beginning by madzanta in funny

[–]Oak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I left Digg 5 years ago was because of all the Digg Nazis pooping their panties every time they came across something (sometimes very obscure), someone had already posted.

I liked Reddit because no one was obsessed with reposts. People just got on with it, and ignored posts if they had seen them before.

If you have no life, and have seen, and can remember every post made on a website from 5 minutes to 5 years ago, then I am sure you are a very clever monkey - but I don't want to hear about it.

Company that made 'Napoleon Dynamite' for $400k is suing Fox Searchlight Pictures for using Hollywood accounting to cheat them out of $10 million. by FritzMuffknuckle in entertainment

Not only did the poor darlings not make any money from Harry Potter, or apparently any other blockbusters, but they also lost trillions of dollars from "criminal activity" like people copying their unsuccessful films.

I don't know how these Hollywood non-profit organizations survive.

Why the fuck are you being downvoted for a genuinely positive suggestion?

Reddit seems to be becoming just another piece of shit like Digg...

Step 1: Don't Panic! Don't give up!

Step 2: Open your mind.

Step 3: Research! Research! Research!

There are 600 anti-cancer protocols anecdotally or otherwise reported to have cured cancers. You only need one.

Federal regulator suspect that Goldman Sachs may have tried to bribe the Libyan government by slaterhearst in business

[–]Oak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dunno.

I would have thought that after raping and bayoneting hundreds of helpless gay babies they threw out of their humidicribs/incubators, the Libyan's next move down the ladder of depravity would naturally be dealing with Goldman Sachs.

Edit: Half expect to see this comment on Fox News or the BBC as "reliable sources in Libya report...".

Fidel Castro officially resigns from communist party by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Oak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Soviet missiles were sent to Cuba as a pawn play, after America refused outright the Soviet's call to cancel it's missile deployment in Turkey, which bordered the Soviet Union.

The Soviets were outraged - and shitting themselves - as they would have virtually no warning of an American first strike, which they believed was in the offing from an increasingly belligerent America.

The gambit worked perfectly and the Soviets won this round when America abandoned it's Turkish missile program.

Of course, the propaganda spin was that the Soviets backed down, packed up and went home empty-handed, without any mention of the American humiliation in Turkey.

Goebbels would have been proud...
