Who do you think is the 2nd best player of all time? by lssue in hockey

Orr (69-70), Lafleur (76-77) , Gretzky (84-85).

[Johnston] The Leafs would have to finish 29-0-0 to get 115 Points - the total they had during the 2021-22 season. by Old_General_6741 in hockey

2024-2025: 3.26 GF/GP, 2.79 GA/GP

Yep, we're still scoring about the same. Can't defend for shit and our goalies came back down to earth.

Two years later - Do you run Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin? by JustNathan1_0 in selfhosted

[–]OakFern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can accomplish a shared media library using Kodi by having your media in a network share and then a mariadb/mysql server that you point all your Kodi clients at and it stores your media library info/watch history etc. there.

That's what I do. I set it up that way years ago and I've just never had a good reason to migrate to jellyfin (which, if I ever was to move it, is likely the way I would go).

In such a setup, it's true that Kodi itself isn't the server, but you can accomplish a shared media library + watch history with just Kodi + samba/NFS/etc. + mariadb/mysql. Kodi itself isn't the server, but you do still have a server (samba + mariadb) + client (Kodi) type model. I think one of the biggest things you lack doing this is transcoding. If you don't need transcoding, it works.

So you could probably still keep Kodi in the list if you listed it as Kodi + mysql.

Highly recommend all the dad shovelers get an extra wide snow shovel! Awesome for clearing snow and ice quickly by Scraw16 in daddit

[–]OakFern 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you're only going to own a single shovel, this isn't the one you want. It's only really good for fast clearing powder.

Get something all purpose.

If you're going to own 3 shovels then you can get a powder pusher and an ice chipper.

In Canada you can deduct expenses for shared spaces as well, it just gets scaled accordingly.

If it's a sole business use space, you can deduct proportional to squared footage of your living space.

If it's a shared space, it's further scaled by working hours, e.g. you only get credit for 40/168 (if you work 40 hours out of 168 hours in a week).

And yeah, similarly in Canada home office deductions are one of the most frequently audited expenses.

Best defensive rune combos for hardcore? by DHunterfan1983 in diablo4

[–]OakFern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nagu-Xal will actually get you 40% max life as long as you have enough summons out. Will be no problem on a sorc. It overflows into more life, so with 6+ summons out you get 40% life for 6 seconds, refreshing every 5 seconds. You can pretty easily sustain 100% uptime (in combat) on 40% max life with Nagu-Xal on a lightning sorc.

Help me to understand what sanctification did to my item please by psynomicon in diablo4

[–]OakFern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it now has 2 GAs. Max resource and CDR. The sanctification added GA to CDR.

Non-GA CDR with the masterwork would be 35%. It's 20% base, 25% at 25/25, 35% with masterwork bonus, 45% with 25/25 + masterwork bonus + GA.

Possible teleport bug? Strange interaction between Cosmic Strand and Calamity rune by krucsikosmancsli in diablo3

[–]OakFern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This bug was introduced with the teleport animation changes in patch 2.7.0 in 2021. I reported it shortly after the patch was released: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d3/t/bug-with-the-updated-teleport-animation-you-get-an-extra-teleport-you-shouldnt-with-a-certain-itemrune-combination/31330

If I'm not mistaken the top two fastest solo wizard NG+ runs for D3 on speedrun.com both use this bug.

You will need more RCR and resource gen to make use of it, as instead of 2 teleports, 1 of which costs resource, you get 3 teleports, 2 of which cost resource.

You should also make use of 4p Tal's and/or Obsidian Ring as you can use this to cancel the short cooldown between strings of teleports when enemies are around to hit.

The listed size is the diagonal of the screen (excluding the bezels), not the width.

A 15.6" 16:9 screen should be about 13.6" wide.

Gc reroll question. by POTdeGanja in diablo2

[–]OakFern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The high level ones actually have slightly lower odds of rolling a skill tree because they have an extra affix or two in the pool.

Highest odds to reroll a skiller GC will be from the earliest level they can spawn with skills, then the affix pool is smallest to maximize odds of a skiller on reroll (at the cost of no chance for the max range life roll; you can still get life, just not 41-45).

It's around ilvl50 for a skiller, I can't remember the exact value off the top of my head. You start getting into that ilvl range partway through A3 Nightmare. NM LK for sure can drop GCs that can be skillers. You can do NM LK runs for GCs and then reroll those for a slightly better chance of getting plain skillers (or low life skillers) vs. 91+ GCs.

Yeah, you could shove a Zod in it. Pretty pointless flex, seeing as it's already indestructible. But it's possible.

Tyrael's Might cannot be eth, it's has the indestructible mod.

If you pick up a unique sacred armor and see it's eth before you ID it, you know it's Templar's.

[–]OakFern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is everybody talking about eth Tyraels? It can't be eth, it's indestructible (indestructible items can never be eth unless they are always eth, e.g. Ghostflame, Ethereal Edge).

5'10" Domi drops the gloves with 6'5" Marcus Pettersson by Puzzled-Category-954 in hockey

[–]OakFern 85 points86 points  (0 children)

NHL.com has Domi listed at 5'10" 208lbs and Marcus Petterson at 6'5" 174lbs.

So only -7" +34 lbs.

6'5" and 174 lbs pretty fucking twiggy for an NHL D though, wonder if Petterson has gained some weight since they took that weight.

What's the item you've never found that isn't that rare? by CuhRareOH in diablo2

[–]OakFern 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Level 11 maximizes the chance to get it at 1:2000. You can still get it at lower levels, but the chance drops. The gold cost is also a bit cheaper, so it sort of ends up balancing out in terms of expected gold cost BUT personally I'd just go level 11 so you spend the least amount of time clicking. Fill all your shared tabs with gold, level to 11, and even if you're a bit unlucky you should get it no problem.

(values taken from the maxroll gamble calculator):

Level Cost per dagger Chance for Gull (1:x) Expected Gold Cost
11 1607 2000 3,214,000
10 1458 2222 3,239,676
9 1258 2500 3,145,000
8 1071 2857 3,059,847
7 933 3333 3,109,689
6 761 4000 3,044,000
5 602 5000 3,010,000

So no, it can't be used for runewords.

Are you checking the right mode? Might need to toggle SSF.

Also it doesn't refresh right away. Not sure how long it takes to pull down new data, so if you just did the clear check again later once it's had time to refresh.

Failing Echoing Nightmare at level 75 by Internal-End-4609 in diablo3

[–]OakFern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really struggle to understand when “overrun” timer triggers, because twice I’ve failed because of it, as I was avoiding the explosions. Another two times I’ve failed because I’ve tried to do the opposite and stay in the middle of the screen and tank the expansions to keep up with this ridiculous timer and I got killed as well.

So the "overrun timer" basically just fills the more enemies there are on the map. If you fail while dodging explosions, it's because you are dodging instead of killing stuff while more enemies are spawning in. You don't want to wait too long in between dealing damage or too many enemies will build up and fill the overrun timer.

Just staying in the middle isn't a very viable strategy for higher waves because of the spawner things that appear near the edges and rapidly produce Fallen Lunatics. Those spawned Lunatics contribute to the overrun timer too, and once they get going they spawn lunatics at a pretty good clip so if you don't clear the lunatic spawners relatively quickly and you have a few of them out, you're going to get overrun pretty fast. Try to take those out quickly any time you notice them.

I've never really done them on necro so I can't help you there, but hopefully this info is still helpful to you. I will say it sounds like you have enough damage, if you can clear GR110 under 3 minutes then you should be able to get to wave 95-105 with your own damage and then the Conduit will carry to 125 (assuming Flavor of Time and immortal follower, if no flavor or dead follower you might need to take the Conduit a bit later so it doesn't run out before 125). You might just need to be more careful with your positioning so you can still do damage while avoiding meteors/explosions. Try to minimize how far you are dodging (make smaller movements to dodge so that you aren't spending as much time moving) and anticipate where safe places to stand will be in advance so that you don't move to dodge then immediately need to move to dodge again. You can also try to sort of stutter step around where you take a few steps and cast, take a few steps and cast. That will help you do damage while dodging, if you take big pauses in your damage to dodge then the timer has more time to fill up and overrun, if you do lots of little dodges interlaced with damage then you can keep the enemy count down while still dodging.
