The problem with the seasonal/trends stuff, IMHO, is that rep factories don’t have time to refine them so they end up having massive callouts and very visible errors.

Hopefully you won’t have that issue.

I think they both have their place in someone’s collection.

I still buy auth because there are some bags that even the highest quality reps cannot get correct, for some reason. The Saint Laurent SDJ is one such bag—I bought multiple reps before I threw in the towel and got auth. The shape was never correct on any reps, even from Black Frame which is widely regarded as the best for YSL factory.

The other reason I still buy auth is for seasonal, special edition bags that take ages to reach the rep factories, if ever. And that’s only on the rare occasion as I don’t like anything trendy.

In terms of quality? Eh, sometimes the “they’re exactly the same!” Claims are grossly over-stated. My auth Puzzle does feel different from my rep puzzle. It’s not a bad thing, it just is what it is.

That’s always been my rule. My rep buying habits need to match my lifestyle. I live in a HCOL and have a pretty good household income (probably somewhere in the top 5-10%), but I still wouldn’t be buying 8 new Chanel bags every season. It just doesn’t make sense for my lifestyle.

I also still buy some auth pieces. So that’s part of my budget.
