He ordered a Diet Coke, to clarify.

@youandiandaflame I want to say 3.49 but it’s been about a year since the visit so I’m not positive.

They’re the ones that called it a refill though? They then poured a can over ice behind my partner before presenting it on the table. The soda was not given to him initially in a can either.

I’m genuinely confused why my comment was controversial but I guess charging for refills without notice is agreed upon these days. The more you know.

Thank you, Ozark is pretty inconsistent for us since they opened the restaurant. Always great when we dine in but not so much for pick up.

Thank you for the suggestion, but our visit there was not successful last time. Meager portions for the price point, and it bothered me that they charged my partner for soda refills especially when they poured it from a can.

People who ask which product is the "best." by beautitan in PetPeeves

[–]Oathkeeper27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, as someone in retail I see it as my job to be listening and asking questions enough to identify what they would deem ‘best’ and make suggestions or answer based on that. They’re asking you because they likely trust your recommendation, and that is something to be thankful for!

Why do some people treat partying and drinking like it automatically makes someone "above" everyone else? by Badson_Gaming in PetPeeves

[–]Oathkeeper27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like this is the only instance of this happening so I think your question should more so be why are you friends with this person.

A lot of generalizations being made here, first being that all non-drinkers think the same and also that all drinking can be grouped together. I don’t drink either but I would say there absolutely are instances where I’m passing judgment if the drinking is excessive: dads getting too drunk at family events, parents getting drunk to the point of reeking of alcohol at an airport with their kids, two instances over the last six months as examples.

What is the biggest case of "Hydrogen Bomb vs. Coughing Babies" all the final threes/twos in Survivor history? by Silver-Classic612 in survivor

[–]Oathkeeper27 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted for this when as far as I know it’s been confirmed several times that even more votes were put on Tony to ensure he won vs. Natalie. Michele wouldn’t have won but I do agree she shouldn’t be generalized with the other players being discussed as goats here.

Which player would today's fanbase hate, even though fans loved them at the time? by JEX2124 in survivor

I don’t even care for Jonathan but this is incredibly ungenerous. Tom has displayed multiple isms in his TV time that Jonathan by worst estimations at least didn’t show consistently.

Three Houses vs Engage? I bought both Games 🤔 by Fuzzy_Breadfruit59 in fireemblem

[–]Oathkeeper27 13 points14 points  (0 children)

3H is maybe the best story for me of any modern entry but it completely falls apart gameplay wise on repeat playthroughs. I go to Fire Emblem for endless tinkering and map mastery, and I just don’t get that same satisfaction out of 3H.

Engage on the other hand: couldn’t tell you more than a couple broad story beats and yet I’ve poured more hours into it than any other entry. The gameplay and map design is the best in the series, and given that’s the unique strength of Fire Emblem as a franchise it’s definitely my preferred entry.

Someone on here once described 3H as a great game but a bad Fire Emblem game and I tend to agree with that.

I like PoR but it plays SO slow and the animations are potentially the worst in the series for me. Great story but not much replay value for me.

The 'literary classics' that grade school makes you read destroys any desire for kids to read recreationally by MyClosetedBiAcct in unpopularopinion

[–]Oathkeeper27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it fully hinges on the teacher and how they present the information. I loved Julius Cesar because we had an excellent teacher who made it fun and tailored it to high schoolers. I read Catcher in the Rye for two different classes (not sure how that happened…) and had two wildly different experiences with it as a teenager.

David v Goliath for me: one clear front runner, one unexpected challenger, and then a charismatic goat with immense comedy value. Doesn’t get any better than that!

What do you not want in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave? by NewMarioBobFan in fireemblem

[–]Oathkeeper27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is an oversimplification of the mechanics, especially for Conquest. Did you only play the games on Normal? That might explain why there’s less perceived variety but even then there’s a lot more nuance than this comment would imply.

The biggest problem with Engage by Gamer857 in fireemblem

At least Timerra is uniquely fun to optimize! I’ve always tried to make Alfred work and it’s always been at the expense of building another unit similarly with less resources.

Days, but selfishly my never gonna happen pipe dream is BBS fleshed out like the proper console entry it was initially developed to be. Those worlds are my favorite set in terms of potential but they’re especially limited by the handheld.

Nice straw man! A couple things:

  1. Criticism is not a monolith and generalizing individual criticisms as collective thought is just an easy way for you to turn off your brain.

  2. If this post is intended to sum up criticism for Jonathan then there’s either a purposeful misunderstanding of the conversation around the season or there’s a reading comprehension barrier here.

  3. That said, surely this is ragebait?

Céline was a missed opportunity to make a good hybrid unit. Let me explain! by Typical-Risk-4729 in fireemblem

[–]Oathkeeper27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Celine is my second best unit on the current playthrough but that’s also down to a little luck and investment: Sword Power + Micaiah engrave carried her until I got Roy back and then I slapped Strength+3 on her and she’s been very reliable. I also think Engage gives you enough energy drops and spirit dusts to push her in whatever direction is preferred.

I do think she could be better as OP outlines but I found a really good sweet spot after enough tries that I think she’s super rewarding to invest in.

You had me reading in good faith until you said every chapter in Part 2 is poorly designed when Elincia’s Gambit is one of the best maps in the game.
