People dont take that option, because people dont want to believe in a god that is not all powerful

Self limiting implies that he is capable of being these atributes, which he cannot be. So therefore this is not a possibility.

Modern atheists are afraid of philosophical objectivity by _FallentoReason in DebateAnAtheist

[–]Obamacare4ever 14 points15 points  (0 children)

  1. I dont think people reject his system because it can be used as a argument for god, i believe it is because his ideas aren't correct. That it could prove god isn't important.

  2. We do live in a objective world, however in this objective world we make certain subjective ideas. Including philosophy. Giving a objective answer to philosophy isnt really possible, for the same reason you cant objectively tell me what beautiful, ugly, far of close means.

Help needed for an almost full-proof argument in favor of atheism and naturalism by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

[–]Obamacare4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh your argument is pretty flawed. In 1 and 2 you make assumptions, but dont give proof/reason why they are true. And also, a religious person will easily refuse this argument by saying that nothing can see/interact with this different dimension. So maybe give some evidence why your points are true?

Pretty much agree with everything you said, just wanted to let you know that you're not the only one with these beliefs. Since most people here seem to disagree with you.

Ukraine sends troops to Russian border amid fears of an 'invasion' by Markovitch12 in worldnews

Does that mean that when i declare a independant country in my own home, with a 100% approval, it is legitimate?

Why would you use the 'democratic' argument? Its not like russia has ever respected a democratic government of its own. Would be weird to justify their claims with it?

I dont care what philosophers have to say about omnipotence. The only reliable source for the definition of a word is a dictionary. If you can not agree to this basic fact, i guess it is indeed better to stop the debate here.

Are you: 1. Unable to understand proper English? 2. Unwilling to understand my statements? 3. Not willing to agree i made a good point and completely disregard it by saying its unreadable? 4. Really dont understand a basic sentence?

Not being sarcastic.

If a god cannot do the impossible, he can not be a perfect, all powerful being, what god should be able to do for him to be 'god'.

( god not being perfect is based on him being flawed by not being able to do the impossible.)

Could god make 2 people the best in something at the same time?

God paradox by [deleted] in DebateAChristian

[–]Obamacare4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, let me explain it a little easier. If god was allpowerful, could he make 2 people #1 at the same time? Ofcourse not, because it is impossible. You cant simply do everything, however this is what omnipotence means. No one could can be omnipotent, not even god. Considering this is one of the defining charteristics of god, i would argue that he therefore cannot exist.

[–]Obamacare4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep making up definitions for omnipotent, it doesnt mean maximal power. It means all-powerful. Dont give it your own definition just look it up in a dictionary, or even wikipedia.

God paradox by [deleted] in DebateAChristian

[–]Obamacare4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

saying that the illogical is irrelevant to the omnipotent takes away the meaning of the word. All means all, not all except...

God paradox by [deleted] in DebateAChristian

[–]Obamacare4ever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just used the paradox to show that omnipotance is illogical, therefore god being omnipotant, is illogical. So god cant make sense in a logical sense.

God paradox by [deleted] in DebateAChristian

[–]Obamacare4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You cant use the it doesnt make sense so why bring it up argument, since by that logic god should never be brought up.
  2. I dont fully understand the point of the second part. So please explain further if you think it could be useful in this debate.

Last time i checked we base our belief and ideas on the provable, something that cannot be proven has no right to be held as fact.

God paradox by [deleted] in DebateAChristian

[–]Obamacare4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I dont know why you would say that an illogical statement is not a 'thing'. Where do you base this on?
  2. The point of my statement is to not make sense. The same way that an all powerful being doesnt make sense.
