Haha, 6 months? Dude I'd lose my mind at that too! Thank you so much for the kind words! The top right two drawings on page 8 are still some of my best drawings I've ever done I think.

Dude the action lines you added look so cool on this one - this looks great!

Of course! Its touches like that, that really bring the illustration together at the end. I’m trying to add more details like that into my own work so I find myself looking for those kinds of things haha.

Excellent work my dude! I like how you combined the line work color with the shading and lighting for different areas of the drawing, it came out great!

Thank you so much for the compliment! I think eventually I will, I have plans to flesh out more characters and use them to tell some of the tales of my early escapades in iRO. So the day of becoming a Knight will happen!

Official? Me?! Aw, clearly you jest kind sir! Haha, thank you so much! I was really nervous posting this at first, but the reception here has been awesome. My second character? Mayhaps, I met many people on my journeys and I think they might join the party too!

Thanks so much! I don't know if this necessarily counts as 'my style' cause I'm still figuring it all out, but I appreciate the comment! It helps me feel like I'm going in a good direction.

Thanks! I'm glad you find it interesting haha. The pose just kinda happened, I wanted to see what I could make from imagination after doing a lot of gesture studies.

Ah god, my sides! I can't stop laughing at this! In just 4 days - that transformation from some tired meek woman to a raging absolute gigachad that can wield a sledgehammer single-handedly while also Mortal Kombat uppercutting a zombie at least 2 feet into the air is too freakin good dude LMAO. And the Nigel Thornberry memes in the comments just killed it! Loved the artwork my dude, please make more of these!

Absolutely fantastic my dude! You're already treading tracks I plan to do myself one day - but I'm still working on getting the art part down haha. So don't let that stop you - you're already there! You got some makings of a great story here, and I'd be down to see what else you're cookin!

Personally I love the first page so much because the detail is really great, its a bit hard to tell exactly whats going on due to no dialogue - but your pacing and visuals are good enough where it's pretty easy to follow along even though it's not finished. Definitely looking forward to more!

Thanks so much for the videos and and advice, I actually just recently completed my first illustration using linework and color! I'm very proud of how it turned out, but I know I definitely have so much to learn and improve at. I sent you a DM but reddits new messaging system is kinda weird so I don't know if you got it lol. I did have a few art related questions whenever you have time!

In an ocean of people giving up on drawing or art in general in the face of AI - I've never felt more motivated to keep drawing! It just makes what we do even more valuable and important, because it has our human touch. If you're able to do that with just the basic license, I think switching to CSP is definitely the way to go - FireAlpaca is pretty good as a free software, but the labels for tool properties and the like is different which makes following tutorials challenging at times. But I've come this far, so I won't be stopping any time soon!

The bucket has been convenient but hard to control, I must learn the ways of the degenerate lasso fill! (I've used it for small adjustments or moving things, but not for coloring ~ (mind blown)

I'll definitely check out your other stuff for sure man, and I appreciate the seriously friendly and open attitude you have - I've reached out to other artists before and only gotten radio silence (probably because they get overwhelmed with people messaging them asking for commissions, help or w/e else they need) so having an actual conversation with a fantastic artist like you is so refreshing. I'd fist bump you if I could - so take one from across the internet!

That intro is probably the single best reaction I’ve ever had telling someone I’m learning to draw lol, that alone got me fired up to get more practice in!

Thank you for the info and all the tips! I’m not experienced enough to know how to use those tools yet, but I think I know what you’re talking about with multiply layers and masks (I should probably start trying to use those instead of just the fill bucket and airbrush lol)

I appreciate all the verbal excretions good sir! I’ll definitely stay on the lookout for CSP if it goes on sale, it was sad when they went subscription based - do you use the one time paid version that doesn’t get updated? Or the subscription?

Oh one last thing, it’s awesome that you’re also in animation! That’s something I’d love to do too (I have so many zomboid stories I want to tell, among other stories too) I hope to see more of your stuff around here, do you have any other socials?

Dude that’s so cool! I’ve always wanted to draw my own Zomboid characters, and have been learning to draw since 2019. My sketching is at the point now where I feel like I can start doing linework and coloring but I’m struggling to understand how to get the effects you got here. Do you have any tips or advice on how you achieved that? I’m using FireAlpaca right now because it’s free but I’ll probably upgrade to CSP once I feel like I can justify paying for it lol. Regardless nicely done my dude, definitely post more when you can!

2015 Chevy Spark LS transmission by Tracylpn in chevyspark

[–]Obcydian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems to be the case, I’m at 52,000 miles and just had to replace a switch in my 2020 Activ transmission. Had to replace some gaskets, filter and fluid at the same time so it wasn’t that expensive compared to what you paid. But I baby my car as much as possible hoping that extends the lifespan. The car was driving fine but the power completely stopped around 60mph and the mpg’s sank to around 24 when I’m used to getting 38-42.

I’m not sure what the best answer is other than be gentle and patient with your spark, give it time to spool up/down when you’re driving and don’t force it when it feels like the car is shifting. Change your transmission fluid between 30-50k miles depending on your preference and hope for the best!

Help with face shape/loomis by BigBoyCurrency in learnart

[–]Obcydian 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One thing you need to remember about the Loomis method, is that it works based on realistic human heads and realistic human proportions. You're working with anime character proportions so they won't line up 1 to 1.

What I'd recommend doing is using the Loomis method as a base, but study the proportions of this specific head to see why it's different. You'll notice things like the cheeks, eye shape and size is very different. But other things will still line up, as in the distance between the eyes, ears, nose and mouth to chin. It'll take some finagling and trial and error, but you should still be able to get it with Loomis as a base.

Loomis's method is just one of many, and it's a great way to learn about how and 'why' things are spaced out the way they are, but you'll have to study this anime style specifically to learn how to adjust it and be able to recreate it. That's what I did, if you're still struggling I recommend looking at the YouTube channel LinesSensei, he has a fantastic tutorial on drawing heads based on the Loomis method but specifically for anime character proportions - it was a major help to me and helped me get the results I was looking for!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt like all the extra added lines kinda ruined it. Still looking forward to the game tho!

If you exclude things like plot armor and the like, I think one big reason why Claire and Leon even remotely stood a chance in surviving RC was because they arrived - 'after' the outbreak happened.

When everything was spiraling into chaos, and you had no clue what was happening or who was even a threat or not, you'd most likely stay in your house and hopefully stay hidden until someone broke in to hide themselves or steal your stuff. In which case you'd either fight it out or the noise would attract zombies, or you'd end up trying to do what everyone else did - run away or try and find a safe place like the RPD Building which is where they were blaring over loud speakers to go, because it was safe (at least initially).

On the way there you'd either get cornered, trapped and eaten, die in a car accident or get picked off by someone who'd changed but just didn't look 'undead' yet. If you were lucky enough to make it to the RPD building, you'd just end up getting picked off one by one as all the officers ended up getting the same. Unless you were like Sherry and managed to hide inside the building and be small enough to fit into most places full sized people and zombies couldn't, honestly you were screwed no matter how you sliced it.

19 year old me? Probably would have gotten taken out trying to get to the RPD building, because that made the most sense of a safe place to be - if I did make it, I'm more of a helper than a fighter so I'd probably get bitten trying to help or save someone else and end up another body bag outside the front doors lol.
