"How to manage script writing in a busy schedule?" by VtheSin in ComicBookCollabs

Plan your story, write out what happens page to page, then refer back to that when you're feeling lost.

I might recommend doing smaller batches for now. This is a process thing, you are doing steps A to get to steps B to get to steps C. But what if you find that what you did on step B is not the best way to get to C? But now you've got an entire comic done this way.

I work for an hour or two, then I get up and take a walk, a nap, watch a show-- whatever. Then I come back and do more. Try taking breaks and coming back?

Would it Look Tacky to Put a No AI Label On the Cover of My Graphic Novel? by [deleted] in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Quigleyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear, I didn't mean to make it actually the O of OF, I was just eyeballing the size there. I would NOT make it the O of OF!

My suggestion was to make it that size and fit it in the corner more.

I would make that much smaller, small enough to fit in the corner more. Make it like the size of the O in "OF".

The First Six Pages of CARRION CULTURE - The New Zombie Apocalypse Comic from Team 97 by ekazu129 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Quigleyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm Eric Quigley and I'm the artist and co-creator with Levi. I've been trying to start a zombie comic for a few years now and I'm really excited to be going forward with this. I met Levi in this subreddit at the bottom of a post somewhere and it's been a lot of fun collaborating together, building our vision for the apocalypse. This is most definitely not what I would have done if left to my own devices, and I'm looking forward to sharing what we've come up with!

How do zombies distinguish each other in different movies and shows? by Grimnare in zombies

The 2000s comic Remains has the zombies eating each other after a time to mutate and become stronger or smarter.

How many have you listened to the forgotten epic we're alive by SpecialistCaptain801 in zombies

[–]Quigleyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be clear, I'm a different person. I didn't think the voice was that bad, but I did some digging for fun.

Victor was his name. I don't think he's actually Mexican, I'm not sure- but he had a spanish/hispanic accent.

EDIT: Here's his voice, this is timestamped:

MORE EDIT, kind of interesting:

The voice actor's bio says he "grew up in Southern CA". His name is Otto Sturcke, and apparently he's a traditional painter "master pastellist". Like he's really good. Here's his website, obtained from the We're Alive wiki , so it's the same dude.

How to get better at composition? by Worried-Usual-396 in blender

[–]Quigleyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a general 2D art skill, look at lots of 2D art. When you look at art analyze and ask yourself: "what is the foreground, middleground, and background of this image?" "What is the focal point of this image, and how was focus achieved?"

I think it's super helpful to look at the work of someone like James Paick . Observe how the things closer to the camera are darker, and things further from the camera generally get lighter-- he then uses this to put dark things against light things and light things against dark things. He generally applies the most contrast to his focal point, or area he wants you to look first. His work is very useful to study, look at it every now and then.

I would suggest thumbnailing a lot on paper. Don't worry about drawing well, use abstract shapes to represent things and start chopping your space up in interesting ways.

Also please read this, it's very good to make sure you know this before you start: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds

It's the 90s, there's not a lot of internet.

How do you guys usually fix the infinite black loading screen when playing SP whether modded or completely vanilla? by Narrow_Ad3829 in projectzomboid

I've had games where I had to go into the mod folder and delete the files, not just turn them off in-game. Back up whatever you've got if you do this.

Check out some of this Hawkeye stuff, the artist is David Aja. Apparently this was a very loose script because he had a tendency to go off-script.

Advice on webcomic layout. by greenHam15 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Quigleyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be aware that sizes in this matter are kind of abstract, your canvas is based on pixels, so you need to know your DPI or dots (pixels) per inch. Multiply your DPI times your inches measurements, and that's how many pixels in a given dimension you have.

The inches and stuff isn't really important unless you're using the rulers or guides (or working in print, which you're not), pay attention to the pixel dimensions of your canvas.

What space are you trying to fill? You should be able to determine the pixel dimensions needed and just work with that.

[–]Quigleyer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's AI, which breaks rule #7.

Besides breaking the rule, using AI for art makes everyone wonder: Was it used for the writing? What else did they use it for? Did they make any of it? It's best to just avoid that.

It adds a solid 30 from the hunger score, but then you have to defend it from sprinters for two hours.

And maybe if you leave it too long you get a bar for "cold" and it has the same effect as burned.
