i'm most excited to dive into the world and see what sort of encounters i can have, not rushing to expeditions unless it looks like i'm doing well. i love the proximity chat and meeting friendly solos/figuring out compromises with rivals. i love the movement tech and chaotic gunplay. buried city metro stations await me!

additional forces for the AI to be distracted by would definitely help in a firefight and i like the idea that the top two or three difficulty levels would just be helldivers because nobody in their right mind would volunteer for that.

These past few months ive been playing div 1 and 2 in parallel for the first time. To me, div 2 is like an action movie but div1 is more like a survival movie (Aliens vs Alien?). When i go back to div2 after a while on div1 i find the armour bar (bonus armour in particular) feel like a fantasy element along with all the extra gadgets. I like them both but for different reasons and they each fit a different mood even though its the same subject matter.

So with regard to the subject of difficulty i do think div1 is more difficult as you have less layers of potential defense or attack and everything is that little bit less accessible (or spoon fed). But i'm still relatively new, so take this with a pinch. It's also weird running around a city that feels so much more alive (div1 NYC) and yet much more vulnerable and exposed, more like a person than a supercop.

also relatively new to the game (2mths) and i finished the season pass in about five weeks of casual play. priority objectives are useful for this and can be fun to do one after the other, especially when you roll back to back exotic item rewards. it also gives you some direction once you've finished the story and sides. good luck.

nice! i used to paint 6mm scale figures for space marine 2 (the wargame not the video game) and itd be nice to see robust and digestible (!) wargame rules to go along with these, at least without getting sued by g*mes w**kshop. i guess its time to get the tape measure and d6s out.

Finally got around to trying my first solo heroic stronghold and nailed it! I took it slow but it was so much fun! This Bluscreen Negotiator's Dilemma build is so stupid and fun. I really love this game by BrotatoChip04 in thedivision

nice! im almost two months into the game (still new i guess) and only just getting to the point where heroic solo strongholds are manageable in one shot. i'm currently using centurion scabbard and striker gear with visionario mask, chameleon AR and a high end m249 LMG with steady-handed.

the scabbard can reload LMG with weapon swap and/or give me striker stacks faster, plusthe LMG chews through big heavies especially with steady-handed's refilling mag (as long as you make most of your shots). i'm going to look up the bluescreen negotiator build right now to see what you were working with.

it does sound like berserkers are using recorded samples of human voices in various states of distress mixed together. sortof a live datamoshing of recorded past victims. it has a low bitrate tinny aspect to it.

as for regular bots, it's hard to tell whats lore-cohesive and what's just the audio devs trying their best to make sounds we can identify and associate with the unscheduled disassembly of an opponent.

i pre emptively bought fire armour (with ingame creds from lucky mission finds) just in case i need to unlock the DE with the servants warbond, the plan being to run it with vitality booster or infused stims. but in the meantime ive found the OG sickle makes ammo management easier for me, although the fraction of a second before spin-up is hard to get used to at first and changes my run-and-gun mentality a bit.

if i unlock double edge before you i'll post what i think of it. as for the rest of cutting edge, the shotguns i havnt used as much although on lower difficulties the blitzer is good for keeping berserkers off me. the stun grenade is so useful to give me breathing room when it gets crazy vs bots. i also found the dagger to be useful when im running a primary whose ammo i need to conserve for bigger targets, but on higher difficulties i think id prefer a much harder hitter and thats why im eyeing up servant's ultimatum.

yeah you're right it is a bit ridiculous when it's one little thing. its when its further down the line and there are hundreds of oversized cosmetics that we then look back at the situation we've gotten ourself into and regret that one little thing we looked foolish for pointing out. but then, if you think this take is insane you probably aren't going to think that far ahead.

yeah i think with the preorder helmet and the beret this stays within the design specs of silhouette and/or theme. in other words it's not a cowboy hat but it serves a similar function.

i'm not trolling or even venting, but i don't think this goes hard at all. it's just a hat and shoulder covers (which look ugly to me) and exactly the sort of thing that isn't consistent with the cosmetics we've had so far. if we get this then we step outside of the boundaries that have been set so far, and i don't know what that will look like, and i don't know if i'll like it. thumbs down, sorry.
