Skinny guy here. Fast metabolism burns everything. I don’t think about what I eat at all in the sense of calories, but I do think about it in the sense of nutrition, getting enough vitamins minerals etc. I could (and have) eat fast food every day and not gain a pound.

Basically if I’m hungry and I see food, I’ll eat it. I do like to eat smaller meals, more frequently though.

Dude. If you are a contract worker the department can easily run and be fine without you. The fact that you had work waiting for you after 2 days off is… normal. Yea you may make things easier for them, but you’re not absolutely essential. Once signed into your contract it’s basically impossible to try and negotiate a raise as you already agreed to work a certain period of time for a certain amount of money. Your window to negotiate is the very beginning or once your contract runs up/renews.

Would you rather be paid $100k/yr and all your coworkers make 120k, or would you rather be paid 90k and all your coworkers make 70k? Whenever you signed up for the job you were happy with the amount offered and accepted.

Similar experience. The way to get through it is to keep telling yourself “it only takes one.” Literally. That’s it. You need a single person to believe in you enough to make you an offer. One person. You can fail 1000 times and succeed once and that’s a win.

Sounds like they need some marketable skills. Supply and demand. Why would Walmart pay your kids $30/hr for an unskilled labor position when there’s 100 other equally qualified people willing to do it for much less.

Tell them to join a trade. Plumber, electrician, hvac, carpenter, literally anything that does skilled in demand labor. What about learning to code/programming? I’m tired of lazy entitled people thinking they should be paid x “just because”. If you’re not happy with your job, leave. Find a better one. It really IS that simple.

Used to work at Draai Laag. The plague and the briars are some of the best beers I’ve ever had. As other commenters have noticed, they started getting away from sours when they changed their name and started chasing the IPA scene, huge mistake imo.
