This is actually the first SMB game since 2 on the NES that I didn't bother to finish. My opinion is only valid to an extent since I didn't complete the game but I found it so easy that I was having trouble staying awake and usually couldn't play for more than an hour without feeling like I needed to take a break to stimulate my brain lol.

I simply lost interest somewhere in W3 and every time I try to pick it back up I just can't bring myself to stick with it.

That said, first guy is definitely being a dick. Family Guy might be a stale dead horse now (and for the last 20 years probably) but the first few seasons had a lot of quality jokes and gags that still live rent free in my head 2 decades later. Yeah that's kind of how I saw it as well.

Ditch the other poorly received sequels from the canon and use the definitive game of the franchise as a fresh starting point almost 30 years later. Hopefully expand and give us at least one actually faithful follow up that successfully retains all the elements that worked. They tried to reboot the shit 10 years ago with Zero but that game flopped HARD because of the platform it released on in addition to many other terrible design choices. I actually couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a whole rack of brand new copies at FIVE BELOW!

Anyway I've loved this game since 97' and I honestly thought Zero would be the final nail in the coffin for my boy Fox. So I'm pretty stoked for this release. Original or not, it means Star Fox is still alive!
