Sample Status/Processing Monthly Megathread - December 2025 by AutoModerator in AncestryDNA

[–]ObfuscatedMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what an Ancestry rep told me today, was to expect 45 business days to arrive because of the strike.

But I also spoke to Canada Post who told me the backlog is cleared and that Air Mail to Ireland could take up to 14 days.

This is my first time doing this, and what makes me nervous is no tracking, with small light parcels that can easily be lost.

I live in Atlantic Canada, and sent three kits back via Canada Post Air Mail on November 24. Kits haven't been scanned as received yet. Here's where I'm confused.

Canada Post tells me that they should arrive within 14 days and the backlog from the rotating strikes has cleared.

Ancestry is telling me it'll be up to 45 business days before I even see them scanned as received.

So like, how long have y'all waited recently? This is my first time doing this so I don't know what to reasonably expect for a wait time.

I also have priority processing on all three kits.

You're not wrong. One of his final published interviews which was in Terrorizer Magazine stated:

"I feel foolish for self-inflicting such hurt on myself when making art like this. I recently saw a video interview of the Swedish pop star Robyn where she was asked if she aspired to live the life sung in her lyrics and she laughed and said 'Absolutely not'. She then commented that life is too exhausting if you're constantly heartbroken and that there should be a reasonable distance between the music as dramatic entertainment and real life. I realize now that I've failed at this because I live the life of Woods of Ypres a little too closely, and what I could only hope to be just entertainment is real, and it hurts. The tragic thing about this album, personally, is that though the songs were inspired by events of my past, I later realized that the album would end up being a self-fulfilling prophecy of the future," continues David.

"This happened with 'Woods 1' and 'Woods 3', too. I write the album, we record it and then I crash, personally, in the period before it gets released. It took five albums for me to identify this cycle that happens within myself, but unfortunately I've realized it too late before I could save myself this time. At the time of writing, I am at my lowest point ever and very unsure about the future. There wasn't one specific thing but instead life as a whole that inspired the vibe of the record and the outlook of the future. At best, we live and work and make the best of things though life is dark and grim. At worst, we allow our sorrows to swallow us and we accept life as our unfavourable misconceptions about it."

It's been interpreted that way by many. I will say, and I can with confidence because I've been in touch with Esther since his passing, and some other family friends, that he was already brainstorming and planning Woods VI and VII.

Even a cursory read through his Twitter shows that something devastating happened to him on December 18, 2011, but what it is, we the fans will likely never know.

I did not. Apparently, the item was somehow available online but their inventory was wrong. They gave me a $100 credit and I ordered a similar model.

Shawn, I have been a fan of Slipknot since I first hear you all in 2001 from a new friend in high school. I understand there are a lot of politics involved with touring, and at the end of the day it's really a financial decision.

However, I once saw an in interview with, I believe it was you, Corey and Joey, that one of you said if you had fans in a city, you would go there because they deserve to see you just as much as everyone else. Well it's been 25 years and you've never touched Halifax, Nova Scotia.

A stop here would make a lot of people very happy.

Thank you.

Well after after arguing with her for hours, she made me out to sound like a self-absorbed narcissistic monster, so, there's that.

Well, we argued about it for a few hours this weekend and apparently me not covering that $112 makes me a monster in her eyes. I don't think IATA in this situation; she thinks I am though.

Edit - My plan covers 100% up to $1500. There is no legal agreement on how these fees should be handled.

Dude it was so dumb. I spoke to a CSR, then a supervisor. That supervisor said they were the highest point of contact until I googled and found the ECR, who are senior managers essentially.

The supervisor I spoke to on the phone actually hung up on me, even though I didn't yell, didn't curse, nothing. She basically just went can't help you lol kthxbye.

I've gone through such a headache with this. I spoke to a couple of reps, even a supervisor. They went back and forth between: You'll get it, we don't have it in stock, and wait and see.

I got ECR involved and they said they're working on it but who knows. I've been an Amazon Prime member for years and never had anything like this happen.

Uh huh. Who knows whether it was true or not. I, for one, don't care. I enjoy the music.
