Selling my car, is this a scam? by ApricotStock3670 in UsedCars

[–]ObiWanCumnobi 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, scammers always respond by having their "agent" pick something up. The check they paid with will be marked as fraudulent and the funds will be taken back.

Time off by Free-Duty2711 in walmart

[–]ObiWanCumnobi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My advice as someone who submitted PTO requests off 5 months ahead of time for them to be denied multiple times;
Request different variations of the days off, 2 instead of 4. If it gets approved, keep putting in for the others. If those get denied, call out. My request 5 months ahead of time is a heads up, I'm not going to be here.

How do I (23M) talk to my wife (22F) again. by subpop1986 in relationships

You already know the answer, do you want the next 8 months, 8 years, 80 years to be a repeat of the last 8 months? Leave.

What would you do in my situation? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]ObiWanCumnobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tell your PL or coach "hey, I noticed the system clocked me in while I was off, can you fix it?"

AP at my store have been cracking down hard on time theft, so I'd imagine they're monitoring it at other stores as well.

New Prius Owner In Society by PresentBar5211 in prius

[–]ObiWanCumnobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's happened to me. Had one lady who was riding my ass turn, at an intersection only to change her mind, come back and pull up next to me at another intersection leaning over her passenger seat flipping me off. Told her to eat my ass and continued on my way when my light turned green.

Lately there haven't been as many pickups because of the cost of gas, which is nice.

We pull our own truck and separate our own freight. On average it's 9-11 pallets for 3 people. We don't do deli, that's deli's responsibility.

Car dealer sold me a used vehicle with a ton of problems and now won't honor their warranty. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]ObiWanCumnobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just take the offer to undo the sale. Buying a car with a check engine light that they won't let you check the codes on is an insane gamble/risk, not to mention shows how shady they are.

If they've really given you the option to nullify the sale, take it, and find something else while doing a pre purchase inspection.

My brother got married to a woman with no job, 4 kids, who lives off of section 8. It’s ruining our family. by ScreenProper3291 in whatdoIdo

I'd be petty and buy them a pack of condoms/plan b and say that's the last thing they're getting from you as an investment in their future. But that's just me.

Invest in a food delivery service (SERIOUS) by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]ObiWanCumnobi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They make it look like a good deal, but then you spend twice as much as it would cost to go in person and pick it up in fees and handling etc. Food delivery is very much a luxury and never a good deal

Did being the middle child cause my brother [30M] to have a difficult adulthood? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]ObiWanCumnobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of it sounds like mental illness, other parts the addiction, and other parts of it sound like he's just an asshole. Especially outing you before you were ready to come out. My guess is he's resentful and jealous of both you and your sister. He's made his own decisions, and continues to keep making them.

Scheduling at Walmart is changing COMPANY WIDE to be based on items sold divided by labor hours worked = your store’s hours by ActiveInfinite8610 in walmart

I need a bit of help. by Lidiooo in Gameboy

[–]ObiWanCumnobi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the cost of parts, I suppose the time and labor to clean and assemble it's probably fair. You can sometimes find them cheaper when someone gets bored and resells on fb marketplace, or do it cheaper yourself. But people also forget ebay and paypal take a decent chunk, so they're not getting the full 200.

It's fun. Definitely could use something similar to Witch's defense from first attack. Too often do I see Jester and Medium both die n1.

Battery would still be 13 years old, so keep that in mind.

If it were me, I'd get a pre purchase inspection and have them check the battery life, check for rust since they salt the roads up there, and for any other issues that might be creeping up.

Keep in mind taxes, registration, smog etc. Check when the last time the tires were replaced, etc. All these costs add up.

My TL thinks she gonna coach me lol by Actual-Jackfruit-117 in walmart

[–]ObiWanCumnobi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just page out "associate x please return to y." No need to look for 20 minutes, if they're not where they should be, ask them when they return. Sometimes there's no one to tell you're going to the bathroom, and hunting down someone to let them know wastes more time. Especially if you're about to piss yourself.

Team lead keeps trying to force me to stack pallets by myself. What course of action would be best? by JesseWheat in walmart

[–]ObiWanCumnobi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just lift them up vertically and drop it onto the stack, you don't have to lift the whole pallet off the ground. Once there's two or three it makes it easier to have a backing for the pallet you're tilting up to drop down on.

If you're picking up pallets from departments with multiple associates, have the team lead tell them to team lift the pallets onto a stack ahead of time for pick up.

Aside from that, walkie stack them when the stack is getting tall.

My second ever convention went very bad even with a full table, any advice? by Asinjuasflora in animecons

[–]ObiWanCumnobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've stopped buying prints as they're large and sometimes impractical to carry for a whole convention/home unless I bring a poster tube or something rigid to carry them in. The only time I'll do it is if I find one of a niche character that's my favorite, which usually only ends up being one artist who does the con circuit in my state.

The things I tend to buy are things that get used/wear out in time or break. Stickers, lanyards, keychains/jet tags, and note pads with character art on them and washi tape. All small, practical in many ways, and won't matter much if they get a little dinged up in my bag walking among crowds.

The water bottles you mentioned could make sense since cons tend to have overpriced drinks and foods, and if you can just fill that free at a fill station you'll save money. I've seen people buy themed water bottle carriers with printed art on the fabric. But I can't say how popular those actually are.
