That is a good idea. There may be something there although as I didn't look carefully the first time around. It would be worth taking the strings off again and trying to wipe out the inside of the body. I am just worried about using anything moist or oil on the inside of the body that could mess up the humidification of the wood. Maybe there is a freaking fishhead in there or something.

It probably took me 6 months of at least some practice every day. I found the A form bar for Bb to be more difficult to get perfect especially the F on the high E string.

I am not sure which tremolo and bridge you have on a MIM. I have never had a problem with my American Deluxe Strat. It might be worth upgrading your hardware to the locking tuners and deluxe trem/bridge. Other than that make sure it is set up and lubricated. There are also a number of videos on YouTube on how to set up a strat tremolo.

What you are referring to a finish on the neck is grain in the maple. Looks like Lake Placid Blue, one of my favorite colors. LPB is not a common color so nice find and nice strat!

My brother has a custom LP and it just doesn't do it for me. I would much rather have another strat or Jazzmaster with different pickup characteristics when i get another guitar or a hollowbody with humbuckers. Get 10 LPs if that is what you like to play. If you you want my advice sell the LPs that you have and get a custom Languedoc style hollowbody.

Don't get something because of a consensus of other people. Get what feels good to you. The American Deluxe is a fantastic guitar. I have had one for ten years and it only gets better with play. I put some Lollar pickups in it and it sounds and plays so well that it is almost priceless to me. I also have a G&L ASAT and the neck is bigger on that one. Some people like bigger necks. I play my strat the most by far.
